We are just having a few friends over for the Superbowl today which for those of you who are not Americans is the biggest football game of the year for the professional teams. I am making skirt steak, Spanish Rice, Refried beans, jalepeno poppers wrappedin bacon, and hand dipped chocolate covered Oreos for dessert. What will you be serving or eating for today's Superbowl.

Do you have a recipe for the jalepeno poppers? Because I'd love to make some...We are making a roast and nachos along with various snacks..Actually thanks to my oldest son being here, this is my first ever Super Bowl where we have special food and will watch the whole entire game..lol

Oh, I was thinking of a breaded pepper and then either fried or baked; I don't eat pork..:( I guess I could look it up online, thanks for the idea..;)

Thanks for the idea ladym, I made my own poppers and my husband even enjoyed them, (He actually thought they were store bought,) except I made them with really hot peppers and he is paying for it..lol
But they are delicious, and I hope you enjoy your evening..:)

Labor intensive but very simple. Mine are not the deep fried kind though. You just slice the peppers in half and remove the seeds. Then you mix two packages of room temperature cream cheese with one package of 16 oz package of shredded colby cheese or Mexican blend cheese. You spread a bit of mixture in to each jalepeno half and then take a piece of bacon and wrap it around the jalepono to hold the cheese in. Place the halves on baking sheets and bake in he oven at 375 for about 20 minutes or until the bacon is cooked. Allow to cook a tiny bit before serving, they are really hot when they first come out of the oven.

That's not so bad. I am getting worried now our friends won't be able to come because it has started snowing pretty hard here again. I hope hey can come I have enough skirt steak to feed an army and I spent all morning dipping cookies and shelling jalepenos. I hate winter, I really do.

We were supposed to have chili and taco dip with chips. We also made million calorie bars (kind of like a brownie, but has caramel and chocolate chips on it). Something went wrong with the chili though. It tasted very strange. I am afraid there was something wrong with the meat that I bought. It was new meat, but something seemed off. So, we ordered Chinese instead. It was good!
