I have a question for you... In your country, if you go camping, hiking. or hang out on the beach with your family and friends, what do you usually cook or what food do you bring during those trips. Here in our country, the top choice would be adobo. It is pork, chicken or beef marinated in a sauce of vinegar, sy sauce and pepper. And in hiking or camping trips, many of us cook carbonara.
How about you?

Hi! We usually bring pork barbecue. As it does not spoil quickly, and can be cooked right there in our destination. It's actually fun to just go on a barbecue while you are in the beach or camping, etc. :)
Yes, adobo is a top fave too. Like what you've said it has vinegar so it does not quickly spoil :)

adobo is always the first choice because it doesnt spoil easy. Another favorite is ensalada - a mix of eggplant, mango and bagoong (salted&fermented fish) along with grilled fish, either bangus or tilapia. grrr... this discussion is making me hungry.

Oh yeah! I remember we had ensalada when we went to a falls a few years ago. They have 2 variations. One is made of eggplants. mango and bagoong and the other one was made of ampalaya (I forgot what it is in english...), tomatoes, onions and vinaigrette. Then we had grilled fish and barbecue. Yummy!

I have a vegan diet and so when I go camping I take a container with some vegan snacks in it. These will be fruit bars, rice cakes and nuts. I usually take a few small soya drinks with me too. I don't like to cook food when I go camping in my tent. I love to camp by the seaside or in the countryside.

Carbonara is a pasta dish... Usually we do it with spaghetti. Carbonara pertains to the white sauce put into pasta. You can do a variation with it... Some put some ham and bacon. Others do it with tuna and corn...

Instant noodles, just boil water and add in. Sometime we bring alot stuffs like can foods like sardin peas and such. Also bring along hotdogs , coklat wafers and such.It depends on the distant we are travelling into the hiking. If walking in road up hills and mountains then will carry less and more water. If hiking in jungles then will carry more stuffs since it not going uphill and such.

I usually buy some favorite snacks, two or three apples, a botte of water when I travel and sometimes I buy something to eat in the local shops or restaurants. By the way, it seems that camping is not popular in our place as it is not near the sea at all. But we do some hiking in the mountain when we plan to.

Hi, doggydimon. When I went to the beach with my family as a child, during the summer time, my aunt made sandwiches. We ate chips, sandwiches and a fruit. We also had something to drink too. I have never went camping or hiking before though. Adobo sounds very delicious. I would love to try it. It reminds me of eating beef kabobs.

We usually just pack picnic food like sandwiches to go for camping, hiking or beach. We don't do too complicated food.

I think almost all hikers prefer pasta or noodles when going up the mountain to replenish their energy before going down... :D
