I had an online interview a while ago and it is my first time to have it through Skype. I used to be the one doing an interview or a face-to-face interview. I have not felt nervousness at first, but when questions were thrown, that's when my nervousness comes in.
Aside from being asked with questions testing my verbal capability, I was also tested with my written ability. It was a great and different experience.
I will have a second/formal interview scheduled tomorrow. It made me gets excited and again nervous because for sure the next will be harder since the interviewer I expect has a higher position than the first.
I just wish and pray that I can make it and get the job offer because I truly need it. The position offered was one of my passions and interests and surely I will do the work.
Have you experienced taking an online job interview?

Interesting and no I have not had an online interview. Wow how the world continually changes to make convenience. Landing the second interview to me means you did well on the first interview.
Take your time and you will do fine. Let us know how all works out for you and best of luck with that as sounds like you have done great.

I haven't experienced an interview via skype or one-on-one interviews yet, but I'm sure I'm going to experience it sooner or later. I know some people also who already experienced it and yes they said it was nerve-racking and makes you more conscious of what to say and answer. But I think we should perceive interviews as things done in order for us to be tested and known. Companies or institutions hold interviews for their applicants or employees in order to get to know them better and determine if they are ideal or the right people that should work or come in in their companies. Interviews are a way for them to see if they hire the right people that could upgrade and improve their institutions. So personally, I think interviews are just normal and when we are called upon or interviews, be it in skype or face-to-face, we should always try our best to make a good impression and prove ourselves. =D

Yes, the interview through skype is different to that of face-to-face interview. I am more comfortable and confident on the latter way or traditional way of interview than that of through skype. What is very embarrassing situation is when you are thinking for your answer and the other line is not responding or waiting for you to speak up, you will think as if no one is around which there is a tendency that you spill unrelated things. Unlike when you are face-to-face where you can at least study your interviewer's reaction to your response or answers.

I never experienced an online job interview.
But i experienced a phone interview from our client across the globe.
Before i got my job (getting hired) i undergo an interview where in i was being interviewed through phone, and the person on the line is from US.
I was nervous at first and feel relaxed upon hearing how cool the person at the other end of the line.
He talks very clear and with gentle voice, that really helps me to be stable and relaxed, i never felt that the interview goes for an hour (just to realized after)
I wish you all the luck, pray and believe in it's power
have a great day

I had experienced phone interview before. It is a call center job interview. After being interviewed over the phone and you passed, they will invite you for a written exam and final interview. But this time was different. It is through Skype, there is a verbal and written/chat interview. It was at first very embarrassing at first because my mic wasn't working, the other line cannot hear me. And I have to fix the problem before it resumed.
Thanks my friend. I will surely pray for it because I love the job position offered to me.

I haven't but I've had friends who had a similar experience. They were applying for an online teaching position, that's why they had to have the interview online. It's great though.

Hi Maean - I'm wondering what could have happened to your next interview. I hope it went well. I have not experienced this kind of interview yet even the one over the phone. It's always been face- to- face interview in person with me. However, I already interviewed someone for a Supervisor Level post before over the phone. This could have been a great experience and your experience is something different than the usual kind of interview done.
Have a nice day!

I never had an oneline interview, but me and my friends sometimes use Skype to talk. In my opinion when comunicate using Skype is more smooth than yahoo messengger. When you interview using communication device it is spend less expenses than you meet face by face. Nowdays interviews with communciation device can become more popular.

Yes, i just had one thru Skype, a month ago. The interviewer was an Arab employer who wants me to work at his hotel in Rome. I had to be honest with him that i just want an online part time job, because i have a full time job here and my family is here. I wasn't nervous at all.
Online interview is only focused on your answers and the way you speak. But a personal interview is a little bit scary because your mannerism, your personal appearance , your body language as well as the way you sit is being taken into consideration too.
So don't get nervous. Just be yourself and answer the questions well. before you answer try to analyze the question well so that you could give the correct answer. But don't be too long before you answer. Don't beat around the bush either.
Good luck! Notify us of the result, okay?

Hi Maean,
Congrats for making it through the 1st interview. I think it is always natural to be nervous during interviews. I've always felt the same way even if I've gone through a lot of interviews before.
As of the online thingy I've experienced it just last year on my current job that was my final interview with one of the process owners in the company based on California. I felt so nervous at first but I've calmed down when she started asking me and she was really nice to me. Thank God that I got the job. :)
Praying for your success! :)

I had one interview before through Skype.
It doesn't actually made me nervous because we're not talking directly face to face and I have still time to think about my answer.
And I'd prefer to have online job interview than a personal interview.
But I guess no matter what kind of interview as long as your confident you'll still have chances of being hired.
Best of luck!

i haven't experienced an online interview before. it's good that you are able to cope with such kind of interview process. i believe being nervous in interviews is pretty normal, but when the interview comes, confidence is a must to gain the trust and belief of the employer that you can make it. good luck to you. ^_^

I didn't have this experience. But I think that this is a good interview way. If I can be a boss, I'll use this way to find staffs, hihi.
