Dogs do just about everything that we do, so why are people surprised when a dog belches? That's the least offensive action, it's the farts that get you! If you haven't heard your dog belch, just leave some cola in a bowl. Pretend not to look while it drinks as fast as it can, since it thinks you wont know.
Belch! What a cute shameful face!

my dog burbs but not loud at all and i know he is burbing because he doesnt let it out and it is deep inside him and its really funny when it happens though. My boyfriend was like did you hear that and im like its the dog LOL. One thing is, is that my dog has really bad gas atnight sometimes and its like silent but deadly ones and its so bad we hae to hold our noses and then the dog thinks we are playing with him and its really funny. But at times you can hear him pass gas which is funny too because then those ones dont smell bad at all. Well i guess there just like humans and its funny and i love my dog like he is my kid.

Hello msdecember and welcome to myLot,
Belching is not unusual for a dog. My dog also belchs after she eats, but I know she does this because she's too edacious and she rushes to eat everything she has in her bowl, maybe she will get some more.
Belching is usually caused by too much air in the stomach. The excess air enters the body when our dogs eat too fast or gulp down the water. If your dog is also esurient like mine, this may be the reason for his bad habit.
You should better get used to the noise he makes, as I don't think it's possible to change their eating habits.

Hi MsDecember,
I haven't heard my dog burp though. I find you dog's attitude funny and I don't think its a big problem unless its a sign of health issues or anything bad for the dog. I have 2 dogs, my older one does pass gas, we wouldn't know it until we just smell it and we're going to blame each person in the room but not the dog. Just so we learn that they fart too so whenever it happens we learned to blame the dog, its a funny situation though. No harm done so we just let it be. LOL. It's not that he is doing it with other people, he just does that when we're all inside a room. :)

Actually I havent heard any belching from all our 6 dogs ever, this sounds weird but I do hope your dog is ok I mean his health is in good shape, try to check if your dog has any discomfort or any weird manifestation at all and if possible I suggest you try to bring him to a vet or at least be checked by a professional dog breeder which has enough experience.

My Golden Retriever "burps" as well...though he doesn't exactly open his mouth when he does it. He just does a weird burp-like sound sometimes. I'm not really sure how to explain it, but it is pretty amusing. I don't think it really hinders his health any...although he is overweight, haha.
