Superbowl Half-time Show- my personal rant

Okay, this might upset a few people but I don't know why so many people are hating on last night's halftime show. I mean come on! Compared to last year which featured The Who- which is a legendary band and all, but- this year was in my opinion much more entertaining. It's a half-time show! It's suppose to be entertaining and over the top. Yes, the vocals were not there and most of the set-up was predictable, but at least it wasn't just a group of people singing in the middle of a field and that's it. To me, half-time shows are suppose to be like a party- crazy with surprise guests (I was shocked when Slash and Usher appeared). I know that there are people who disagree with me and you're welcome to have your say here, but I am just so sick of so many people saying that this was the WORST half-time ever. Seriously?!?!?! I'm not saying it was the best, but the worst?

I don't think it was the worst half time show ever BUT, I have seen the Black Eyed Peas perform on several shows now and they just don't translate vocally the same in their live shows. Visually they were just fine but sound wise they were all over the place. Fergie was definitely vocally off her game, but that's just my opinion.

I haven't seen them live, but I'm sure you're right. That seems to be common with a lot of bands/groups today- their live performances are better. I do agree that sound wise, they were off and I wondered if it was my television of something. lol. Thanks for your opinion and happy mylotting

It was not the worst half time show ever and i have seen some way worse than that of course. I would say my most favorite half time show was with Aerosmith, Nysnc and Justin Timberlake and that by far is the best and blows every other one of the way so far. I do like the Black Eyes pees but last night was just alright and i know they were trying to do above and beyond but when they sand and performed on the Award show not to long ago it was better then there halftime show and in the halftime show they had more time to play around with then they did on the Award Show well again my opinion like you stated. Have a great day mylotting.

I agree with you. I was saying it was the best half time I've seen. I don't know if it was the best one ever, because I haven't seen that many different ones. It was nice to see a more popular up to date group perform. I think the vocals were okay. Ofcourse they aren't going to be great, they are in a huge stadium and the sound system probably isn't the greatest. Fergie seemed deeper than normal, maybe she was fighting a cold or something. I loved the people in the lighted suits. It was so cool to see them dancing around. And who could complain about Usher dropping in from the ceiling? lol. I personally liked the show and I don't understand why everyone is making such a big deal about it.

LOL. Thank you for agreeing with me. I also loved the people in the lighted suits. Whoever is their choreographer needs to be paid a lot of money for some of the things they did. Happy mylotting

The day after the superbowl I saw all over facebook about how horrible the half time show was. I didnt get to see it so I can comment. It seems like the guests who performed were modern people pretty much so I thought that was cool unlike last year where the band that performed was from the 70s!

LOL! I was laughing last night as it was 50/50 on my fb feed, half my friends loved it, half my friends hated it. I like the Black Eyed Peas but I already know they sound kinda lousy live. Also, the audio crew was terrible with timing for turning on the mics... there's poor Fergie belting out and you hear... NOTHING because the mic isn't on yet. I think it was a fun half-time show and it was better than some I've seen. I honestly watch the superbowl for the commercials, I'm not even someone who watches JUST for half-time. Hands down the WORST I've ever seen? Not even at a Superbowl. It was Kanye on SNL lol! Studio artists and studio bands just shouldn't play live. It ruins everybody's assumptions that you can sing because you released an album.

In the past the superbowl halftime show was always something exciting to watch. this year, the black eyed peas didn't quite deliver those expectations. Their music was enjoyable enough but the performance during such a special event could have been more inspiring.
