Well...I did it again!

I can't believe my luck (or lack thereof). I was called last Monday because my doctor's office was going to be closed on Wednesday because of the snowstorm last week. They rescheduled it to Wednesday this week, but for some reason I went through the whole week thinking it was today. I went to the doctor's office for my appointment only to find out that it wasn't today. I am really frustrated. I want to learn more about what my options are. I just wish I would have had a pen last week so that I could have written down the correct information. I have one now, but the damage is already done. Oh well...I did find out that my other appointment is on Thursday so maybe that one won't go wrong.

That has happened to me before it is frustrating especially when it is a hassle going to the doctors anyways and you are anxious to find out something. It also very nerve racking if the new appointment is a long ways a way.Good luck on your next appointment.

I have been waiting for this appointment since before I got out of the hospital. I was told at that time that it was to discuss treatment options, but they keep telling me it is for a "1 week surgical followup" even though I have a "2 week surgical followup" the next day at the surgery clinic. I will see what happens. Talk to you later.

Sorry that you are having to deal with that. Doctors offices can be very confusing. They aren't as good at business situations as they think sometimes and make mistakes on appointments. One time my son had a dentist appointment and I wrote it on the calendar as soon as she called to tell me about it and I went on that date she said that it already happened I needed to reschedule an appointment. What was upsetting is I was waiting there for a while before the lady at the counter told me and you have to wait a long time for an appointment. This happened a lot after that new receptionist got there and it never happened before. I was very frustrated but I didn't want to get too much of an attitude even though I felt like it when it happened another time but I didn't want them to refuse business to me later on.

I can understand how frustrated you might be. Do you not get to have your Wednesday appointment now? Is the storm that is coming in to Kansas going to hit your area as well? You will be able to write down your future appointments, now. Do you have a friend who will go with you, to help you remember things? They say it is a good idea if you can find someone who will be your supportive listener at you appointments.

I do not really live that far from you, just a little over 300 miles, southwest, and we are having a lot more than flurries. From reading this discussion it sounds as if there is a lot of confusion about your appointment tomorrow. I hope you do not have to go far and that you can go tomorrow and that your brother goes and gets his questions resolved.

It sounds like we will have flurries tomorrow, but it is hard to tell what that means. I hope that it doesn't amount to much because I don't want to delay this any longer. My brother will be taking me to the appointment, but I don't know if he will be in there while I am with the doctor or not. He knows the questions he wants to ask and I would rather not be a go-between to give him the answers.

Experienced the same thing except I entered the wrong classroom. I was supposed to enter a room called Sw201 but I entered Nw201. Dumb mistake. I was already talking to students there thinking they're my classmates.

I think that would be very frustrating and embarrassing! How did you find out you were in the wrong place? How long did it take you to get to the right place? Hopefully, it didn't happen too many times. Have a great day and thanks for the response!

When the assigned professor of the room started writing on the board about stuff not related to the subject I was expecting, I quietly made my way out of the room and took a look again at my room schedule.

Happened to me many times. But now I always have a pen and paper near my phone, and I always update my mobile (phone and handheld) calendar when changes happen. Hope you don't go through this again though...

I hope I don't go through it again either. I now have a pen, but it is by the bathroom sink so I can mark where to cut the skin barrier on my ostomy bags. Maybe I need to either move it or get another one. Talk to you later.

I know it's frustrating but don't let ot bother you to much I think that has to the best of us. I have literally written down the day of the appointment and showed up to the doctor only to find out that it wasn't the day of my appointment, that happened to me twice during my first pregnancy which trust me really sucked because in order to get to my OBG I had to take a train to his office in order to avoid getting stuck in traffic during rush hour. So I know the feeling trust me.

I don't think I would like to have to take a train to get to appointments. I don't even like to go to the doctor. But I guess it is better than doing nothing and potentially dying. It sounds like you had a hard time of it. Thanks for letting me know. It really does help.

Whew, that happens sometimes to all of us daeckardt. We get to learn something the hard way. Sure, the pain of frustration and the seemingly futile investment you have taken, are real and fresh, but the learning acquired from the experience is more valuable right now.

I think the part that bothered me the most was the fact that I went the whole week thinking the appointment was on Monday and finding out that it actually was on Wednesday. I did get it written down this time so maybe I won't get it wrong again. I also found out this morning that I missed an appointment at social security for my disability application. Now I have another 8 days to get ready for that. Hopefully I won't forget this one. Talk to you later.

I noticed that what you responded to was from two years ago, but that's ok. Better late than never, especially when the topic is timeless. I found this past week the same kind of thing happened. I had an appointment at the clinic at 8am and I went through the week thinking it was at 10am and I was even late for that. Fortunately they got me in anyway so I got seen and they gave me some antibiotics to take care of some infections that came up. So far, it looks like I won't need any more chemo...at least I hope not. Have a great weekend!!!
