Is facebook is safe

I think no site is safe facebook, orkut etc. one students tell me his account is not opened and some message is appearing pls dont make a friend or accept request any new person. Is it possible hacking in facebook share your idea if any. Hacker can hack facebook id also.

Facebook is quite safe as long as you safe your ID and password even from your best friend
so keep your ID don't tell anybody or you will get hacked

Yes, I also agree that no site is really safe from really good hackers. 
I think my facebook account was hacked, or is still hacked, because there were some times that it sent messages to my friends without me knowing. Them message was encouraging them to join this site or lay this game......

Nothing in life is safe- leaving your house, chilling with your friends, riding any transport, using your e-mail, going out to eat (some sneaky waiter could steal your credit card, i saw it on 20/20 or you could get food poisoning. Worry about all this, which most likely will not happen, will just make your turn gray haired or go nuts.
