How did you save and earn money in college?

You will need a lot of self control for you to be able to save money. Self control to spend only if necessary. I remember my college days and what made me earn is that I'm not fond of going out because the more often we go out then the more possibility that we'll spend. In your case I don't say that you do not have to go out but you could lessen the days or times that you go out. Or even if you go out more often then don't bring all the allowance that you have. Budget your allowance everyday and take only with you the budgeted amount for that day so that you won't be tempted to spend. Also you can accept tasks from your classmates or schoolmates like doing some extra favor say for example helping do their projects.

I remember when I was in college, and my allowance always felt like it wasnt enough. It was always a challenge to make it last. What always worked for me was to set a daily budget, and only take that budget when I go out for the day. That way, I didn't get to be tempted to spend a lot. Also, to save money I walked to school, since my place wasn't that far from the school. If your library has a sort of unlimited membership for a period of time, take it since it will be cheaper in the long run. I also had a little printing business, since I had my own computer and printer. Oh, and when doing groceries (if you have to do your own groceries), check out the sale items, just make sure you check the expiration dates.

my parents didn't allow me to work when i was in college. i'm bad with money. i can't even save up with my allowance. i was blessed because i was on a scholarship in college.

I'm currently attending college and it seems whenever I have a little money to spend it's gone before I can blink. This past year I've been able to save up and pay for classes but that's where all my money is going. I'm hoping by next year when I take out student loans, I'll be able to set aside money for a new car and even money for my own place. I'm just grateful my parents have helped me out with whatever they can. As far as strategies, I tend to have more extra money when I don't drive anywhere other than school and work I save money by not going through so much gas. I usually try to limit going out if I know I have bills to pay and usually if I do go out, I don't buy extra things. I used to go to the movies every other weekend and now I try to go just once a month and I go out for drinks or dinner maybe once or twice a month. You really just have to limit to what you spend.
