I always wonder why there are some who talk in their sleep. Is this because they are dreaming? Or it is just a sleeping behavior that some of us has?

It's due to excessive thinking ... If you think a lot about anything you may talk while sleeping, also you can have dream about...and can talk once one of my math teacher was failed to solve a problem...and he think it very deeply..and at that night he dreamed about that and able to solve that in the dream...and the next day give me the sollution...

Haha! That story's really funny. Yeah, I think people tend to think so much (esp problems) and bring them to their sleep. Probably one of the reason why we sleep talk.

that's not a story remind you and yes it is the main reason....another reason is tension.(actualy much more thinking come from tension)

I do that sometimes although not always. I think at one point in time we do experience this because of some stressful things that we encountered in our waking lives. I think dreams are manifestations of what we perceived and they are a way to dump it out if there are deep emotions we tried to ignore purposely or not.

Yeah I guess this is a way to lessen the stresses and sometime we talk it out or worse are those that would sleep walk. I guess that is an extreme already and I really do not have an explanation for that one.

Agree, maybe these thoughts that are hunting us and we couldn't let go are reflected in our dreams, and since we are really into it, we tend to talk and "react" while sleeping. :)

Yes my husband too does not respond at times. But there are times when he just continues to narrate his dream by sleep talking.

you know i always find it funny when someone talks in there sleep cause its just funny what they say. like some of my friends when there crashing at my house talk in their sleep, and sometimes they talk what their dreaming or other times i'll ask something and they'll answer. i just find it funny... but i think also some people have some sleeping behavior or probably it's just a habit from when you were young/ if you did that.

Even when we are sleeping our mind wanders, at times we are seeing a dream and in that we are making a conversation with someone then we start speaking, though we are sleeping. May be that is the reason, why we talk in sleep. At times I also talk and if someone wakes me up, I do not remember what I was talking.

Me too, my husband would claim that I am sleep talking and I don't believe him :) Actually, some cheaters were actually caught by their wives because they talk while sleeping. They are unaware that they are actually answering their wife's interrogation. :)

Well there have been times where I have talked in my sleep. However it was in fragmented sentences that no one could understand. At least that seemed to be the case. That's what I was in fact told. I would not know, given the fact that I was asleep. Then again, you could hardly control what you're doing when you are asleep, as you are in the land of dreams. I think the most famous example in my life(or at least what I heard) was years ago when my father worked at the nail department at his plant. He dreamed about counting nails and then he was mumbling about orders and how much they came out to in his sleep. This was a couple of years before I was born, but my mother is fond of telling this story. It just shows how your real life can spill into your dreams.

Yes, no one is even aware of sleep talking. You might be relating what's happening in real life in your dreams. My husband used to talk in his sleep, talking about his work too. I sometimes talk to him while he is asleep, but I think it is not good to talk to the person while they are sleeping, cause it somehow cause confusion in their minds.

The fact that we talk in your sleep should not scare us. It's about our subconscious that always works, sometimes dreams are more powerful and therefore speak, sometimes dreams have low intensity and only passages. It is said that those who talk in their sleep just tell the truth, because you can not sleep lying! That's why many times you can give away what you did the day!

Haha, that's why there were those who were caught doing bad things in life. Because they tend to narrate it while sleeping. Yeah, you cannot lie in your sleep. :)
