Heard the story of Hachiko? It's an old japanese story about this dog who waited for his owner to return for close to 10 years.
This story is an inspiring tale of how loyal a dog can be to his master.
And the best thing about this story is that it is true.
The original story was about an Akita named Hachiko and his master, Hidesaburo Ueno, a professor in the agriculture department at the University of Tokyo. Hachiko would accompany him to the train station everyday and wait for him to come back in the afternoon.
That was their daily routine. Until the professor suffered a heart attack while in the university.
Because of this, he is unable to get back home and Hachiko is left waiting for his master to come back.
The real Hachiko waited at the exact same spot for close to 10 years until his death. He never saw his master again. But maybe in the afterlife they were reunited.
2 films have already been made portraying this story between a man and his dog. I watched the remake with Richard Gere in it. It was basically the same story with the only modification being that it was Westernized.
A very good movie for dog lovers all over the world. And even if you're not really fond of dogs, I bet you'll be moved by the touching scenes where Hachiko waited and waited for his master.
Tears rolled down a lot of times during this movie as it tugged at my heartstrings. I believe only inhumans can resist the urge to sob.
Dogs are really man's best friend.

I've watched both movies but I like the original movie (japanese version) better. I was really impressed with the dog's loyalty to its master. Plus the Akita dog is really cute with a curly tail. I wonder if I can get my hands on one little Akita.
Cheers.

I have heard of that dog, and I hear that it is a movie. I would like to see it if I ever get the chance.

I haven't seen the movie yet. But my friend told me about it, so I know the main story. I think that it's very touching, even if I haven't seen it yet. My aunt loves that movie as well. She even named the puppy that we gave to her Hachiko. She says that she wishes that the pup would be as good and as loyal as the real Hachiko.

I saw the movie, too! The original Japanese version. I was well warned about the emolitionality of the movie, so I distanced myself from the movie. Well, I tried to. But like you said, only inhumans can resist a sob. It was such a touching story that my heart just broke and kept breaking the longer I watched. It didnt matter that I couldn't understand the language and that I had to read subtitles, Hachi's actions were enough. I didn't have the strength to watch it again, or the Hollywood version.

I saw this same movie with Richard Gere and it was a real tear-jerker. The movie was well done and well acted and the dog stole the movie. It is real amazing that a dog can be so faithful and attached to a master. I had a dog myself and saw how they attach themselves to one person. Amazing!
And yet humans with all their intelligence cheat on one another and kill one another. Not all humans are like that but many are.
Good post!

Had watched it before and it made me cry like a baby even when I was trying to think of not crying since I was at work when I watched it, this movie is truly a proof that dogs are indeed mans real best friend, and loyal companion thru thick and thin. This is one of the best movies I had watched in my whole life indeed.
