When talking about aging, nobody is off the hook. There are many regimens for anti-aging and true enough it creates a difference in a person’s skin. Spas and medical clinics may offer varying treatment plans but they basically have more or less the same principles only that they use different approaches. Here are the basic and natural ways to cope with aging: • Apply moisturizers to the face. The oil production of the skin decreases as the person gets older. The degree of perspiration is also reduced; hence, the skin is more susceptible to drying up. When the skin is dry, a person’s skin is more disposed to developing wrinkles. This way the skin needs more moisturizer as it makes the skin more vibrant and healthy. Drinking water is one simple way to moisturize the skin. Lipids such ceramides are also helpful in boosting the moisturizing part of the skin. • Exfoliate the skin. There is an increase of the development of the dead skin cells as it loses the capacity to regenerate newer skin cells. Because of this, the skin is prone to becoming rough due to the keratin coming from the dead cells. The response to this is to exfoliate the skin since it scrubs off the dead skin cells. Remember though that anything in excess is not good, thus, never over exfoliate the skin. Otherwise, the skin will be irritated and cause redness. • A skin lightener can address the problem of spots in the facial skin. Along with aging is the appearance of spots in the skin. Melanin pigments are the source of spots if there is an irregular disposal of the pigments in the external layer of the skin. Skin lighteners can help even out the skin tone making the spots disappear. Creams or lotions with Vitamin C can also be applied since it decreases the amount of melanin production. Apart from all these, aging individuals must make sure that they get enough sleep, protect their skin from the heat of the sun, treat their skin gently with proper and adequate skin treatments, and seek professional advice.
