Yes, I am an OC! I just found this out when I need to take a psychological evaluation as my lawyer need to present it to the court to have my marriage anulled. We don't have divorce in the Philippines and to break free from marriage is only through anullment with only one valid reason being accepted, one of the parties should be proven psychologically incapacitated to enter into marriage. My psychological evaluation results that I am an OC. My lawyer told me that OC's seldom succeed in marriage. I remember during my college days, it was in 4th year when we did our thesis, it was by group of 3 and we always have disagreements with my group until one day one of my groupmates was so upset with me and blamed me saying "You are a perfectionist!" Just recently, my colleague went to my office and she saw me working on one document, she was laughing as I have been spending too much time fixing the alignments of the texts, the margins, etc. She said "I know you are bothered by that, because you are a perfectionist!" Also I have the habit of going back several time just to check if the door is really locked and spending time re-checking if the document I put inside the envelope is really the righ one. In typing letters or preparing any document or report, my checking process takes more time than the time I spent in preparing the report or letter. These are just few and this will be very long if I will write more of my OC behavior. Would you know what could be the treatment for this?

Based on your illustration, no doubt I can tell that you have OCD. So, what was the result of your annulment my friend? Hope you do not mind me asking about it. Just interested to know because I am in the field of legal.

I don't mind at all. It was filed in 2007 and I got the decision in 2008, however I finished to amend all the documents only in 2010 as I was out of the country again in 2009. So now I am happy that my passport shows my maiden name and all legal documents that needs my signature, I can sign with my name on my birth certificate. Cheers!

i have that tendencies too, being perfectionist or some sort of that. well good thing your able to succeed in filing your annulment. for treatment of OCD, i have heard some are taking medicines for that to control their behavior. as for my case, its not that severe, its tolerable. i guess its all in your mind. maybe try to look for professional help, maybe there'll be some exercises or medicines they'll prescribe to get away with your OCD.
