'THE RITE', Which is a Supernatural Thriller based on the Matt Baglio`s The Rite: The Making of a Modern Exorcist. The Rite just recently came out in 2011.
The movie is a spin back to the original "The Exorcist". Unfortunately "The Rite" I felt was a huge let down for audiences.
We all have heard about when the original Exorcism Film came out and people were fainting in the theaters, Throwing up in the movie and had to be dragged out because they couldn't handle it.
Now With the movie "The Rite", I promise you, You will NOT have to worry about that... Don`t believe me? The movie got a PG-13. If that doesn't tell you something then I don't know what does.
I personally believe any true, Grab your mate and be terrified is half the fun of the movie, but with the Rite. Trust me you wont experience that. There are maybe 2 or 3 somewhat scary scenes.
I'm sorry but not even Sir Anthony Hopkins could of saved this movie.
I talked to 8 people who saw the movie and they were all disappointed in it, so I'm Happy to say I'm not the only one.
After reading my article, If you still need more proof this movie is nothing but a letdown, Be Sure to check out rotten tomatoes website.
To make a long story short I would personally save your money and see Cowboys vs Aliens..
Im sorry if I burst any bubbles regarding The Rite, It just wasn't for me. I grew up watching the original "The Exorcism" and I remember people fainting in the movie theaters and paramedics there just in case.
Moral of this story, Exorcism is scary there is no doubt about that, but if the film writer took some real time instead of rushing out a movie because that's how this movie sounds.... RUSHED.
Good Luck on your next movie, Just a hint of advice when TRUE HORROR FANS come to a movie and pay 10 bucks a ticket #1 THEY WANT TO LEAVE HAPPY #2 IF A HORROR MOVIE IS ONLY A PG-13 YOU GUYS HAVE SAVED ME LOTS OF MONEY BECAUSE I WILL NEVER SEE A PG13 HORROR MOVIE AGAIN.
THIS IS LIKE THE VANILLA ICE OF CRAPPY HORROR MOVIES... IN 6 MONTHS PEOPLE WONT EVEN REMEMBER IT!
WHAT A WASTE - I GIVE IT '2 out of 10 Stars'

I watched this movie about a month ago and it is a fine movie. I guess we are different since you love the scary films and I do not like such movies. I agree that this is not a scary movie at all. Those people who love The Exorcist film will really be disappointed in this kind of film. There are only a couple of scary parts. But honestly that is what I prefer in a movie. I don't like movies that will scare the hell out of me. I guess I'll give it 8 out of 10 stars.

2 Stars! Is a shocking review of the movie! I have seen so much about it on the internet of various websites and lists of scary horror movies 2011! I must admit i havn't seen the movie yet but i am disappointed to read that it is so disappointing to watch as i have been eager to see it. But only because i wanted it to be scary and i havn't seen it yet because when i first heard of it i was getting a bit tired of everything being about exorcisms and ghosts and was looking for something different since the storylines all seem to be similar.
You sound so sure that it isn't worth watching i don't think i'll waste my time on it since there are so many other movies out there to explore.
Thanks for the heads up!

Vanilla Ice was very successful, just sayin'. Ha ha. The Rite looks like another boring same ole same ole story, but Hopkins in the trailer does look like he is doing some good acting, well, just being a creepy old man anyway.

Really? I guess it's still up to me to decide. After I've watched it I'll go back to this thread and post what I've seen with my own eyes.

I haven't seen this movie yet. I didn't know much detail of it yet though. If that disappointed, I probably won't go to theater to waste my $10 ticket for some movie like that. I would rather wait until it come out of DVD, and I can rent it from Red box or Blockbuster express.
