Anyone knows what the best android movie player for an android tablet is? My Brother-in-law just bought one an we are trying to find the right apps without duplication due to the limited space. Please also include the file formats it plays if you could. Any help is greatly appreciated... Obviously I'm not tech savvy though... so basic english please! Thanks again!

what is your phone unit? i ask since some players are not compatible with some phones (usually those with lower than 600mhz processor) in my experience there is no single one yet that fits all my needs. i usually deal with mkv files. not much problem there as lots of video players support mkv (not to mention my phone also supports it natively). my problem is that the mkv files i have either dual audio or internal subtitles. now that really got me searching the market and forums to find the one for me but haven't come up with any. i did find some useful ones though (i ended up using more than one so i can switch as needed). for dual audio, i found rock player to be the best (since you can choose which audio to use at the start of the video). but rock player doesn't support internal mkv subtitles. so for internal subtitles, I found that mvideoplayer is the best. its actually would've been the best if only it supported dual audio. so my next problem was what if the video i have has both dual audio and internal subtitles? how will i play it? i found the answer via a small application from the market, its called mkv subextractor. basically it will read your mkv file and export the subtitle into srt format (which can then be read by most players). so for those with both dual audio and internal subs what i do is use mkv subextractor to extract the subtitle into srt, then use rockplayer to choose the audio i want. rockplayer supports srt so the subtitle is loaded. i can now watch mkv's with dual audio and internal subs. although, i would still prefer a player that could handle the dual audio and the internal subs, less hassle that way. no more need to extract the subs first before playing the video. i heard vlc was planning to make an android release but no definite date yet (and they said it would most likely be only available for the new version of android)
