crazy sci fi flicks from the 80's

I was daydreaming the other day when I was thinking about flicks to introduce to my friend who hasn't seen as many of the sci flicks that I have seen. Anyway, i was building this list in my mind and one of the films that popped back into my memory was Videodrome! I don't know if anybody else is familiar with it, but it is a trip. Its set in a harrowing future where society is physically addicted to television, and there are viewing houses set up like soup kitchens. Thats only one crazy aspect of this movie! I was wondering if anybody else had some lesser known jewels to share. I am interested in sci fi flicks from the 80's, your favorites, but also ones you might not think a lot of others have seen.
