I have read a lot of reactions from people in the internet regarding the suicide committed by Angelo Reyes. They think they are chicken. They say really unbearable and bad things against him. They said he did it because he protecting the Arroyos. As for me, why can't these people who tell bad things about his death just shut the f*** up? The man is already dead. Do you think committing suicide is easy? No! Why can't they just be quiet and pay respect? He might have done something gravely wrong but that doesn't mean he has no right to be respected even after his death. Humans are so inconsiderate most of the times.

Hi. I understand that we should pay our respect, but you have to also consider our soldiers who are dying in the field because they are ill-equipped. They sacrifice their lives for a measly pay. Most of these foot soldiers don't even get their names seen on television. There is really corruption in our AFP. I think almost all of us is aware of that. I am not saying that Reyes is guilty, but he could have enlightened the people why corruption persists and who are involved. He knows, and taking his own life isn't an honorable act since he still has an obligation to the people to tell the truth. He took this oath when he signed up. I'm sorry if we differ in beliefs and I'm sad that we are being swayed away from the real issues at hand.

If Angelo Reyes was guilty of stealing from the people, he would not be the only one. The culture of corruption in the Philippines is pervasive in all aspects of life, from the lowly traffic cop to past presidents of the Philippines. Senator Estrada's father the former president of the Philippines was accused of corruption and even the good senator himself has been accused of tax evasion. Everybody in government has been accused at one time or another of corruption but all have proclaimed their innocence. Everybody claims their conscience is clear. If the good general was guilty then I think he did the honorable thing. It is too bad HONOR is a concept foriegn to all our elected officials.

People are entitled to their opinions, of course, but nobody can know what goes on in somebody else's head. Could have been cowardice, or defiance or just some kind of an honor thing. But I'm sure his family doesn't need to hear all this stuff.
