Wow so I was reading a magazine and I'm not sure which one it was now but it had this small little article that said this : "Bad Santa? Countries that celebrate a full-figured St. Nick have higher rates of childhood obesity- British Medical Journal" Sometimes I wonder where they get this stupid ideas they come up with. Do you think this is really true? I think this is just something they thought would sound impressive and instead it just sounds ridiculous! I'm so disgusted with this article. Kids pretty much only think about Santa around Christmas time so why would that raise the rates of childhood obesity for the whole rest of the year? I attached a picture of the magazine article for you to see that I'm not just making this up. It was actually in a health type magazine.

I think this is another one of those ideas being fed to us by society (or maybe hollywood), that thin is the 'normal' size. That being big is not normal. And that they found a target that they could latch on to as a reason for obesity, that being Santa Claus, is ridiculous! Maybe the author should have done real scientific research.

I don't believe that, and I think it's absurd, why would kids want to emulate that Figure? I mean that waistline, think kids would rather idolize a super hero. I think the main reason kids give time to a Santa figure is because they want to receive gifts, but they would not want to be the one to give it awayand this is done only once a year.

I think its absurd as well! LOL I dont think any kids I've ever hear of sit around saying I'm going to eat and eat until I'm as fat as Santa. If they did say that I am sure after the holidays they would stop thinking about santa and start worrying about what presents they will get for the next holiday.

Agree. Just because a person is somebody you admire doesn't mean you want to look like him. However, it might a subliminal thing but that has yet to be proven.

Quite an easy answer. I think the magazine didn't have any idea what to put and just thrown some lie in it to spice everything up. It's just too absurd.
