As I heard about him for more than 3 decades as a public servant, a father and a gentleman. Is it common or normal that whatever to done good in the past in a matter of one mistake all things good been vanished? What you think? Who is Angelo Reyes? Is General Angelo Reyes a hero or a victim? Or all allegation to him are true? What are your views and comments abot this issues.... see you around

Just a point of clarification, I do agree on Aerous statement "How can a corrupt official be a hero"? But I don't agree on the second sentence and my reason is below.

eventhough he is a victim of whoever you said, his action is not acceptable and buried in the heroes cemetery... whether guilty or not.. his last action should be merit or de-merit. see you around

I think he used to be a hero. A true-blue, patriotic soldier. Then at some point in his life, he succumbed to the temptation of corruption. He amassed money from his illegal ways and he became morally weak. Soldiers are known to endure pain and humiliation, and stoic even at the face of defeat. I dont see those qualities anymore when he took his life in front of his mother's grave.

I heard a lot about him from sources like offices which he used to handle and personally, I don't think he is a hero. Until the very last minute of his life, he lives by the system - to keep their mouth shut in times of troubles. Well, it is very obvious that he is guilty. If he is not, he wouldn't take his own life. I don't think he is coward enough to just take his life for things he has not done. I have heard and seen so much... and I really couldn't believe that people could take so much money from others when there are so many people in the country who works hard just to earn fifty pesos a day to support his or her own family. A victim? I don't think so. His family has lived an extravagant lifestyle over the years... what kind of victim are they?

thank you for your views which contradict in other says that despite he did that they said he is low profile and his family without any luxurious life. According to Tessie Ang See this morning he is a good person and not ashame what he done for his life, he is stil gentleman. And his family are not involved like what General Garcia's family... see you around

Of course, they are good to those 'people'. They build a very good relationship with them. But if you are going to visit DOE down to NAPOCOR, and hear what the staff would say about him... I don't think they would say the same thing about him.

In my honest opinion, he could have been a hero if he has proven them all wrong and exposed to the public , those other big officials who really are into the AFP anomaly.

I didn't say "he is a hero". I said " He could have been a hero " , meaning if he hadn't killed himself he could have been that and has proven them all wrong, and exposed to the public , those other big officials . Please reread what i previously answered . You misinterpreted what i have commented.

In a person, there is always a good side and a bad side. If we ask her relatives, friends and colleagues, they would say that he is a good father, husband, family member, and friends. On the other hand, if we ask those who accused him of the supposed to be wrong doings that he made, they would say that he is corrupt. For me, we could never really judge him based on the current issue. Up until now, it is not still proven that he had steal the money from AFP. On the other hand, we also cannot tell if he is innocent. I think the judgement will rest upon our Creator who just knew everything. All we can do now is just respect the privacy of his family and also pray that the truth about the case that hi is involved would eventually come out.

Angelo Reyes is already filled with so many controversies. In fact, during the past regime, he was already hit with a lot of controversies. I certainly would not want to believe that mere speculations would be the basis for a senator to attack him.

so we are hoping that all senators will be true to their investigation to get the truth whatever and whoever involved including AR... What if AR proven guilty is there any sense? see you around

No, that's not what i meant. What i meant was, since the senators are questioning him already, these senators must have reasons for them to do so.

A good judge will look upon the information before taking a decision. Since we are lack of information, we cannot decide if he is a victim or a hero, guilty or not? It will remain a question that is subject to be answered in the future, provided the accurate information will exist.

Ret.Gen. Angelo Reyes is not a hero. Because he escape the reality of the investigation. But he is victim of the most devil of the Philippines the most corrupt president in the Philippines history. Maybe he was left in nowhere by her so that Reyes cant take the reality.

Hi visavis. Heard this editorial from "Magandang Umaga Bayan" by Tonying which gives an entirely different point of view and which is rare from all comments I heard and read...that AR was a victim of our structural system. I can't remember all that he said but I believe this is the gist. One could be a good man, an idealist, a person who truly wants to make a difference before entering into politics and governance. Once in, you get caught in the system and pinned within the system. This could change you...willingly or by circumstance. One has a choice, yes. You could stay or leave. I have had friends who left the system as they can't live with it. But they are few. Most stayed. Who knows about Reyes? Have a nice day ahead visavis.

Well, he has served his purpose during his years of service. Though because of what happened and all the accusations against him, the people cannot accept him as a hero, but he sure is a victim.
