Alot of people shoot up drugs, with a needle, pills like morphine or dilaudid. What is the best way to care for a friend with issues like this?
Obviously there isnt a way to get through to people who are addicted, but do you know how hard it is to convinve someone to go into rehab?
At the end of the day im left feeling kind of powerless.

I agree with savypat. We are hopeless. The best thing you can do is to be a great inspiration to them.. show them how being healthy makes you feel happy and motivated and that there are things in life that are still worth it. Then just maybe they might want to make you their good competition.

You feel powerless because you are, the only ones that can help an addict are a professional or themselves. The best you can do is provide information about where to receive these services. As with most families we have several in our extended family who fight this battle. It's painful to go through and painful to watch your love one go through it. Blessings
