Why dont people recycle their cans?
Here in Kansas we make 55 cents a pound for them, and a pound is 24 cans or so. I just cant believe that people don't recycle their cans!
Sure 50 cents is not that much, but you make a little money and you also help the environment.
I think the problem is that people dont take saving the earth or doing stuff like that seriously.

Individuals are not at fault, it's the industry! Here, the local can company wont buy small amounts from individuals - they want a twenty tonne truck load. Then, they only accept whole cans (not flattened or crushed). Think about it!
What kind of truck can carry twenty tonnes of whole cans? Impossible!
In other words, they don't want to recycle.
Other types of scrap metal also prove troublesome to sell. As you know, metal prices fluctuate. Traders wont buy when the price goes down. And all prices are down at the present time!

People here used to sell cans and earned them quite good money. But people become greedy and steal the telephone cables to extract the coils inside to sell. The government put a stop on the issuance licenses to those who deal with the buying of recycled cans and metals. The government took over but the price went down so people don't bother collecting cans for sale anymore.
