Did you sign up with DMP program?

So, I just wonder if anyone had the same experience before as I am now. I recently have a financial problem, and the credit card company probably file a lawsuit or garnishment against me. To protect my salary not been garnished, I sign up with NFCC.org, and recommended by their counselor to sign up this DMP (Debt Management Plan) program. I wish that I can get out of this debt as soon as possible. With this program, the counselor might negotiate a deal with my creditor on behalf of me I guess, and I just work from here until I pay off the debt. I just wonder, with their monthly set payment, can I increase up that plan payment and speed up the pay off day? Has anyone had such experience?
