Need Writing Idea-please help!!

I want to apply for the post as editor for an educational book, and I have to write a brief sample with the topic like this"Briefly describe the level of contact you have had with the people`s daily life-specifically, the regions, demographic groups, and occupations with which you are most familiar". As I feel traumatic after my samples were accepted then they gave me assignments then I did my assignment previously but no response yet ( it discourages me to write and it seems i want to stop), i need your idea how to start this topic. This is my rough draft: I live in Southern Tangerang, Indonesia. Southern Tangerang is in Banten province. My neighbors consist of people from different ethnic groups, like Javanese, Bataknese, Native Betawi, Chinese descents and many more. They have various occupations, from drivers, government employees to CEO in multinational companies. When I was at college, I have lots of friends from regions other than Java province, like Sumatera, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara, Papua and Kalimantan ( Borneo).My non-Javanese friends tend to work as government employees, but there are some who prefer running their own business. Is it OK?I get stuck and desperate with what I was doing..thank you very much for your help
