I love eating anything that is sweet after a meal. I even have a box of cheap candies at the office, which i would eat after lunch. I just don't know why, but i am used to eating anything sweet after a meal. That does not only apply to me , but for the whole household at home. Are you like us also?

I rarely eat sweets after a meal. I'm more likely to pinch the odd one out of my kids' snack box when I'm passing through the kitchen during the day.

My kids have a snack box which is where all their sweeties are kept. That's the one i occasionally sneak one from.

I was just wondering what kind of snacks does a kid's snack box have? My child when she was a kid most likely have biscuit or sandwich plus juice. So, maybe there's something sweet in there too.

I have a sweet tooth myself. I don't feel a meal is complet if I don't eat anything sweet after it. Mostly it is to rid the taste of whatever food I ate, and leave the sweet feeling in the mouth. I have since taken this habit a notch down lately. My family has a history of diabetes, and I just don't want to suffer the same fate earlier than I should.

My father is diabetic also, so i would drink lots of water after eating sweets. I also have a monthly check on my blood sugar and urine every other month, just to be sure, it's within the normal range. But still, i like sweets after a meal, even just a candy.

A sweet treat after any meal is its own reward. Sometimes we just need that comfort. It takes away the stress the rest of the day may have brought our way.

I guess you have your point there. If i have eaten something sweet after a meal, it's as if i feel so light.

Well yes I do love to eat sweets, but maybe I should stop because it's not good for my teeth at all and I should cut back. Still it's so hard because sweets are just so good to give up and I also can't give up chips I eat like two or three bags a day, but their mini bags. I love sweets though like candy I eat a lot of those a day and it's really hard not to eat them anymore since my parents love sweets too. I do drink a lot of water to try and make up for all the sweets. One day I should really stop eating sweets or at least cut back so that I won't lose my teeth because I am really afraid of losing my teeth because than I won't be able to eat food properly. I also tend to get a lot of cavities because I eat to much sweets last time I went to the dentist I had like 13 cavities they were all surprised at how many cavities I had. I was also amazed because I had no pain in my teeth what so ever and they asked me if my mouth was in pain and I was like no. I never felt any pain so that makes me question the dentist a bit because the lady who was taking pictures of my teeth was taking a lot and she looked like she was messing up a lot and she looked like it was her first time on the job. I don't want to pay a lot of money for my teeth in the near future because I don't think that my income will be enough hopefully it is because I am going to college, but yeah I should not eat any more sweets that way I can avoid that whole hassle of dealing with the dentist.

Yes, those candies also ruined my teeth when i was just in primary school. Hence, at that early , i already had a denture. But that never stopped my likes for sweets after a meal. I just drink lots of water after eating it.

I guess, generally people specially women, likes something sweet after a full meal. For me, it's because i would like to wipe the after taste of a rich food. Besides, i was used to having it after my lunch and dinner. But not for breakfast. I don't know why.

I LOVE eating something sweet after dinner. It can be as small as a little chocolate. I just need something to satisfy my sweet tooth and then I'm good to go for the rest of the evening. I think it's because dinner isn't typically sweet, so I just need that hint of sweet at the end of my meal to feel fully satisfied. I typically keep small sweets in the house for this purpose. Sometimes Hershey Kisses or Peppermint Patties. Other times I'll have some other form of chocolate like cookies or cake. I typically try to keep it to small chocolates though so I don't add too many calories to my meal!

I was like that before, but now I have stopped, cause I'm trying to limit my sweet intake. Hehehehe! I do miss my sweets, and maybe tomorrow I will get myself a treat.

Not really. What I like to eat after meals are fruits, kind of like my dessert. Everyone has different likes. Fruits are also sweet though and refreshing too.

I also like sweets after meal. But the problem is when I am at home if I eat sweets after my main course, I would be looking for the taste of the meal again. So what I do is grab a small piece of the main course and eat again and after I will be looking for the taste of the sweets... hahaha... It is a viscous cycle and it is too fattening. So I try to avoid sweets after the meal when I am at home...hahaha...

I was never very fond of sweets, especially when I was a smoker, but ever since I quit smoking I began to consume more sweets, usualy after lunch. So far I managed to avoid eating sweets in excess and I hope I will manage to control the quantity of sweets I will consume.I think it's very pleasant to eat sweets after a meal, but we must very careful and not exagerate.

While I hate to admit this but I have a huge sweet tooth. I try not to eat sweets before bed time because every time I eat any kind of sweet rather it be a candy bar or a piece of cake I always have bad dreams, Actually nightmares. I recently read a study that said its a proven fact if you eat sweets before bed time you will experience nightmares. Does anyone else here experience nightmares after eating sweets before bed time? I'm pretty curious as to why this is. Ive actually stopped eating sweets before bed time because like clock work every single night I do have nightmares, and I don't think I'm the only one. So Please if you also suffer from nightmares due to sweets before bed time please leave a post so I know Im not alone... Thanks Guys!

That's not true with me. Maybe because if follow what as an alternative doctor who used to heal my father of his cancer told us to drink at least 2 glasses of water before we sleep,so as not to get nightmares.

I also have a sweet tooth, but I just crave for dessert or something sweet after eating at dinner time, maybe because I don't have enough time to eat at breakfast and then I have lunch at the office, so I can't enjoy my sweet cravings at these meals. I usually have longer time enjoying the food at dinner, so I do eat something sweet. Sometimes, we crave for something sweet to get rid of the after taste of what we have eaten.

Hi simplyd, I am averse to eating anything sweet since childhood. That's one reason for the complete set of teeth I have until now. However, just recently, after I got married, I was stricken by the pre-natal cravings of my wife for sweet food and I never got away from it. Now I have this cavity in my wisdom tooth and how it ache if I eat something sweet or just anything with ice in it. I tried to substitute my sugar intake with fruits if I can't stand the cravings for sweets anymore.

Usually guys are not fond of sweets, just like my husband. That's what we noticed at home, he would even not eat papaya after meal. But juice, yes he likes but not other desserts and candies.

You are craving for sweets because you wanted to get rid of the after taste the dish you ate left, If you ate something that leaves an after taste like a spicy dish, seafood or beef, You wanted to neutralize it and eating a dessert will surely help to get rid of the after taste.
