Does this site pay? Are you getting jobs? What is the best way to get hired for a job?

I've been signed up with oDesk for I think 2 years now and I haven't been able to earn ever since, hehehe! It's just so hard to compete with the other members. Some are making their rates very very low (which is BTW against oDesk policy) so the buyers prefer them. At first I was very active with the application and stuff but I just couldn't get an interview. So I finally gave up and just focused on my blog and mylot :) I also didn't like the idea of us providing them of screenshots of ourselves working. The computer screenshots are okay but I just don't like the idea being watched. Although I do understand their purpose but I guess it's just not the thing for me. :)

Yeah, you have to install their oDesk Team software or something. It is used to make sure that you are really working on your project, kind of like your evidence that you're not just browsing around your computer and that you're really working. Hmmm, I think your rate is too high. Mine used to be $1.50 and below and I still can't get an interview. You should see the rates of the other members, way below than $1!

Screen shots? Well I guess I didn't read that. LOL That is kind of freaky. I am making my rates anywhere from $4.00 to $6.00 an hour. Do you think that is too high?

Wow, That is crazy. I can make that working on ChaCha.com and it is really easy. I might just have to give up on Odesk. I don't mind doing some stuff for that cheap but it really just depends on what they are wanting done.

I've been to odesk since 2008 and I found it great because i really earn money from them. Actually, your buyer or client will pay not odesk but of course, you have to know that your buyer or client is payment verified by odesk. I'm getting jobs by odesk as Data Entry, Admin Support, Virtual Assistant and Internet Marketer. The best way to get hired is to make your profile standout. You must complete all the information needed plus a photo of yours. Also, you must take some exams/test which is related to your positions or skills. You must take Odesk Readiness Exam first before take other exams. Last, your rate per hour should be reasonable. I mean, if you're a first timer. I suggest your rate per hour should be lower than other applicants. And when the timed, you had experience in that area. That is the time you could raise your rate per hour. Hope it helps. Happy Mylotting!

Just be patience! You will hire in the soonest possible. Why don't you try to earn in Bukisa since you're a freelance writer, you could still earn on that site by posting your article. And if you could noticed in my profile or if you can visit my website, there's some online jobs available for you as freelance writer.

This is a lot of great info. I think I need to make mhay profile standout. I have only completed 60% of it. Are the tests easy? Can we retake If we fail?

I just joined Odesk a month back and I am presently being interviewed for a job by the Moderator. Is it safe to provide our Govt issued ID to them if they request for it?
