Me and a friend of mine we are thinking to start a website with anime video, but we dont have a clue if thats illegal or not, to upload video.
For movies or music i understand that is illegal because the companies lose money, but for anime its not the same. most of anime stay on US or Japan or Tokio i guess... to be honest i dont have a clue... i have seen many sites that has streaming with series from tv or anime... but i prefer to know whats going on before we start something

If you don't own it, then it's illegal to post anything unless you're just including it in a blog post or something like that. Developing a website that uses other people's work will get your site shut down just as soon as someone realizes what you're doing. Forget about it. It doesn't matter whether the anime is owned by a company or an individual. If it isn't yours, that's theft.

Thats not true, there are things that are free to share, like many programs or even music, i dont own them but i can share them. the idea on those is that i cant sell them, but i can still share them with other people. If something is free you can share it for sure. My main problem is that if its illegal how come there are like 1000 sites that do it? it might be illegal to do that in specific countries. As i said there are some anime that they sold only in Japan or Tokyo. So some people they take them and put subs on it so other people can see them too, and if i am correct Japar or Tokyo blocks sites from other countries that they harm their policy or something like that

Yes, there are things that are free to share. But if you try to make money from that, that's illegal. You're responsible for knowing if something is free to share. If it isn't, you're pirating. Also, just because there are sites doing this, it doesn't mean that they're all legal. The only reason it's possible to get away with it, in some cases, is because the websites are in a different country from the person who owns the material, and there's no way to enforce any laws.

In a way yes but in a way no. Its kind of like sites like manga fox which supplies free readable manga. Japanese and America anime companies are trying there best to close down those sites. But with the internet power to search for these shows nowadays its really hard. I m sure you have good intention though.

Because of the Geneva Convention, which Japan and the U.S. are a part of, it's illegal to upload copyrighted material you don't own. Uploading anime you do not own to another site is illegal.
