When should I put my baby in the bouncer?

He is at that difficult age where he loves sitting up but cant do it alone. I imagine they do get tired of laying down. I remember especially when my grandchildren were still too small to sit ina car seat but they wanted to sit up in the car in their infant seats. I felt so sorry for them.It seems after they get that age the infant seat is only good for when your out somewhere and the fall asleep.

Yes, i can imagine they do get bored. Thats why they eventually start rolling over and later crawling. They are little explorers. My babies loved those swings. Put a blanket down on the floor ina place with no drafts. Spread toys ina circle around the baby. i bet he can make a complete circle on his belly.

I know as a parent that sort of age of baby that can't sit but wants to sit up with assistance or be held all the time. For that reason there is the bouncy chair that is suitable for a short time. In my home country there is a seat that is for babies that can hold their head up but not yet sit unaided. It is meant for babies of 4 months old and over. It keeps the baby sitting upright. I know that it is essential to use the bouncer on the floor and not a raised surface. A time will come when a baby is strong enough to bounce out of a baby bouncer.

I would say every child is unique & you need to find out what's best for him. Our son is 8 months now & the "advice" have lessened. I mean in the beginning everyone had something to say as it seems that everyone meant good, but at the end of the day we as parents need to make the decision & be responsible for the decisions we make. We can't say because so & so said such & such as at the end of the day if anything should happen, we still need to face the circumstances alone. Those who apparently were helpful seem to have vanished or some might even deny they have said this or that, such is life, haha!~Having said all this, our son doesn't really like the bouncer. Normally most babies will be crawling at 8 months, but ours was already crawling at 7 months & now he's 8 months, he wants to walk alreadyBy the way, how old is your child?

Hello Mermaidivy! I have three children 12, 10 and 8. I remember that the doctor told me: that first the baby must stand up his head correctly, and second asked me to wait until tha baby had 9 months. Because his/her bones are stronger. Blessings... Dainy

With both of my children, I used the bouncer from the time that I brought them home from the hospital. The thing that you have to make sure of is that it is reclined back enough that his head is not going to fall forward. If it doesn't recline enough, then you probably need to wait on using the bouncer until he has more control of his head. For me, I would definitely say that the bouncer was my favorite baby item.

It would be best to ask the pediatrician as my daughter began to walk at 9 1/2 months old. She was quite advance as she was fully potty trained at one. I do know that the baby should not be in the bouncer for long periods on any given day.
It is so much fun to watch them jump and down and have a great time on the bouncer.
