I went back and forth about getting the Kindle for months. When i did my taxes I said I am going to treat myself to something nice that's just for me. Being that I love reading and books are very near in dear to me, getting a Kindle just seem like the right thing to do.
3,500 books all in once place..... Do you have an E-Reader and are you in love with it as much as I am in love with my Kindle??

It's a rectangular gadget about the dimensions of a paperback book, and it's even thinner than a single CD case.Ever tried reading a paperback one handed? You can read a book on the kindle that way.Once charged,it'll last weeks before you need to plug it in again (unless you're downloading loads of books and leave it looking for a signal-you download the books wirelessly, either from the gadget itself or sending to it from the Amazon website store)

I'm a very happy bunny as I was given an out of the blue present of a Kindle last night :-)
Until very recently I could not imagine how a piece of electronic gadgetry could replace an actual book that you can hold in your hand, but as soon as I held a real one I was sold on the idea! It's going to be SO handy for travelling.
Today will be spent learning how to use it and downloading some material. I just posted a discussion on how to find some free legal downloads actually. Do you have any tips?

I was looking at covers in the shop yesterdday but they were SO expensive and don't seem to have filtered down to the cheap shops yet. I went rummaging in my Mum's kitchen cupboards and I've found a plastic Tupperware type container which works just fine. It's probably wider than a special Kinder case, but I can keep my sandwiches in it too LoL

hi 34momma I am so literally old fashioned, I have no kindle nor any ebooks but in my room I must have fifty paperbacks and another fifty
hard backs. I love to read but it has tp be a real paperback or
a real hardcover so I can grip it and read myself to sleep. I do not think I could hold a kindle like that. Yes I have a computer that I love and a great monitor that yes I love it too.So yes you can love
things.

I don't currently have a Kindle, but my friend recently told me that she loves hers!I do think the fact that you can get classics for free is a very attractive feature about it. You also don't need to waste space with large books collecting dust in your home. However, I am concerned that if I got one, I would not like it because it will hurt my eyes. Computer screens tend to hurt my eyes and reading on computers gives me headaches sometimes. I have heard that the Kindle is better at lookinglike a real book than other E-readers, though. Any opinions from Kindle owners on this subject?

Well I can say I've fallen in love with lots of books themselves, but other than that... nope, nothing else. Loving gadgets and electronic gizmos has no appeal for me and I hate the just idea of ereaders with an unmatched passion. I feel like the very idea is a crime against books. I'll never buy an e-reader.

I love to read books too. However I am not sure Ebooks are the best choice for me. I read Ebooks just because I have a software that can read documents out loud in my computer. I love old style hardcover books. It's not possible for me to sit before computer and stare at it for hours. It strains my eyes. Though I have a thing they call glare-protector but I really don't think it does what it's supposed to do. However with this software you hardly ever have to look at the document because the voice called 'Marry' reads it all for me. Now, I wonder if such a thing is possible at all in a Kindle. Can you tell me where I can get a Kindle online? Will you be kind enough to also give me some estimate about its price?

The kindle is sold by Amazon, total price with taxes came out to $205. It's a small device. The resloution on it's so much better then the computer. I love books too, but having to carry more then one book around with me every day is to much. with the kindle i can have thousands of books right at my finger tips

I bought an iPod Touch about 4 months ago and absolutely adore it. I am writing this response on it. I can surf the net, use Skype and read a book. I can watch movies and listen to music too! My diary is there plus I make work notes and have a database on it. The Boss calls it my other p*nis because I am always holding it! I used to be very superior about electronic readers but I do see a real use for them. Just don't drop it in the bath though!

I think I've got many books already and can't finish books already in my study. Kindle is nice, I guess. But why don't you get a cellphone with PDF reading funcion to download and read PDF instead?

I have a kindle too. I got in december as a christmas gift. I'm so in love with my kindle. I finish a book a lot quicker than I do with a regular book. The kindle makes my reading life so much easier. I have about 35 books so far. It's like the first thing I do in the morning is reach for my kindle and I read it everywhere I go in the train in the bus and even in school. I carry my kindle with me, it's like a little child to me. :)
