In today's busy landscape, I think the best Valentine gift should be to spend some time together. Arrange a space in some cozy place where you two persons can spend time away from the hussle-bussle of everyday's chores.

I never present a gift for my boyfriend! I realize that I only present gift to him on his birthday.
Maybe I must change. Now, I need some advices following your discussion.

I think maybe just giving him yourself, arrange a beautiful romantic night at home and I mean by doing the whole thing, red heat balloons, chocolates, his favourite meal and over do with the decorations to show you went to a lot of trouble for him...and be like what men dream about ....

I suppose it depends on your husband's tastes. An evening alone is good. Last year I told my husband all I wanted was breakfast in bed. He brought breakfast for both of us. I had bought strawberries and whipped cream (which he loves)... or was it chocolate dip? Can't quite remember but this year I have ordered chocolate dipped strawberries and a card. I suggested we go out to lunch because we haven't done that in awhile. Money has been tight. We used to go out for lunch once a month. One of our favourite restaurants has been newly renovated so I suggested we go there for lunch.
It depends on how romantic your man is too. Some men, you could buy them anything and they would just smile and nod. Only you know what your man would like. Since it's your first Valentine's Day together I'm guessing an evening alone would suit him just fine... maybe buy a nice CD to play while enjoying each other.

I suggest you cook for him his most favorite food. Have dinner at your house together better than "resto" foods because it's personally prepared by you. Tell him how much you love him and how much you appreciate every little things he did to you. That's more than enough to do. Good luck and happy Valentine's day!

I am a little old fashioned. I beleive that the best way to a man's heart is through his stomach. So I suggest that you cook up some of your husband's favorite food , put on some candles, play soft music and open up a fine bottle of fine. Of course it would be nice if you also dress up for the occassion, after all, it is valentine's day.
