Friendship is an eternal gift by the creator to the mankind. It has not endowed the same blessings on other creatures. If it has been we may not be aware of it. We feel happy and contented when we see a true friend. Share with him our intimate relations, our joys, our sorrows and everything. But sometimes this friendship gets marred when our expectations from the friend are not met. Friendship works best when we do not have any expectations from other member. Just be clear friends be happy when he is happy be sad when he is sad. do everything you can to help your friend without expecting anything in return. This type of friendship will be eternal. What is your take on this?

A friend is truly a gift. Finding a true friend means finding a treasure. It is not easy to find loyal friends. But if we are with them, I agree with you we can laugh and cry with them :-)

Hi Msdivkar, I think having too much expectations of a friend is not healthy.
In this case, our friends probably feel us too possessive, and they still have their own lives.
If we want companionship, we might as well get a pet.
Dogs cannot and do not argue with us, and we can control their activities.
Friends are different. They may need to work late, and cannot join us for dinner. They may move to other country to work, and lose contact with us.

A friend is a shoulder to lean on...you can't just open up to people whom you don't know. It's really nice to have many friends in your life. But we must choose people to be our friends.
