Do you think that whatever happens in our dreams can never come true? My cousin told me that when something happens in our dreams the opposite happens in real life.I don't want that to happen because I'v had some really good dreams that I want to come true.............

According to psychoanalysts the feelings that are repressed and confined into our subconscious mind take the form of dreams when we sleep. Some of our desires remain unfulfilled, mainly due to social restraints. Most of these desires are subdued by our conscious mind. We don't want them to surface because we don't want them to be reflected in our social behavior. However, these repressed feelings are liberated when we sleep. This is because when we sleep our conscious mind has little or no control over our mind. So dreams are actually the reflection of reality. It may be a little bit distorted or even may be obscene at times, but they can't be just the opposite to reality. We, humans can't ever imagine anything that's completely unrelated to reality.

Hello SomniatorIdealist!
I had some dreams that came true, even premonitory ones, but that was random and I can't control them. What I read was that dreams can become a portal to another reality, on another dimension. Anyway, I learned to enjoy dreaming, and sometimes, when I sleep, I can even change what happens if I don't like it. So, my advice is not to be afraid of what you dreams.

I've been writing down my dreams since I was twelve and I have yet to see one "come true" or "come true inverse". Unless there's been a zombie apocalypse recently that I totally missed. And I haven't been a mermaid, or saved a dragon. Or seen a dragon vacuuming a library.
I really don't believe that dreams have symbolic, subconscious, or prophetic meaning. I think that dreams are really interesting and creative, and we've cheapened them by assigning these crazy values and dream symbol interpretation to them. I think they're more than that, and if more people remembered and wrote down their dreams then we would discover the answer.

I don't think that everything happen in our dream will be the opposite in the real world. Dream is just something that color your sleep. Without dream your sleep will become plain and boring. Sometimes our dream can be something that motivated us as the dream is something that epic but we actually can archive it. It is depend on yourself not your dream. Don't believe such nonsense. Believe in yourself.
