getting dumped

has anyone told you, "its not you but me line" then get dumped before you even take a breath? I really don't understand that line, why couldn't just people say, I'm sorry its not working. Sayonara!

Yes so true as being honest would be much more respected. Why can't people just simply be honest. Either way it will not be pleasant but at least one can end and no further thought will be wasted.

Thank you for the insight. That is so true. I think that line was invented by people trying to get out of a sticky situation without the repercussion involved. Why not just be honest about it? Either way it would still be a big blow to the other party.
