I have lived in big cities and small towns and now live in a gated community. I prefer a small town. Yes bigger cities have advantages, but also it's noisy and can be dangerous, plus unless a family has money to sent their children elsewhere, the schools are horrible. . Small towns, there is a closeness atmosphere, schools are better and it is safer. Living this way is better because if I want something a bigger city has, I just drive there, but to live, not for me..Right now I live in a gated community, this is even more private, too private and impersonal, so I really hate it. People are not so friendly and there is no communication among the people due to being too busy, almost like they live in the city..

Hi,carmelanirel.I totally agree with you.Large city has its advantage but small town also does.So i will balance this.Anyway,we should just enjoy our life and i believe that people from small town are more friendly than city-dwellers.LOL,,thanks for sharing this..Good luck.

Hi,
Living in a large city definitely is more happening, but the
standard of living is higher and of course, the living cost will
high. The best part is you can have any kind of entertainment and
most of the things you need can be find at the large city.
Or else, staying at small town is more quiet and the standard of living is
lower too,so you can save more while staying at small town.
The main problem is the lifestyle might be boring, not much
entertainment and not all the things you need can be
find at the small town.
It is basically depend on individual what kind of life they want to have.
From my point of view, during retirement period, staying in a small town is
better,at least you can enjoy a peaceful life there and it is kinda more
relaxing.

Well, if I were to live then it must be the city. It has tons of opportunities there. First up is the career opportunities. Most of the big establishments are within the city. You can also find leisure from the city:bars, restaurants, amusement parks, malls, etc. These are only some and I can't imagine myself living in a very quiet and rural place. This is just my opinion.

Hey,thank you for sharing..For my opinion,i like live in small town, beacuse it's quiet and more important is that the environment is better than large cites. But i want to work in large cities, large city is indeed has lots career opportunities..Hah,that is also just my opinion.Anyway, what we should do is to enjoy our life no matter where.

Our house is two blocks from the highway and I like the town feel. The beach is a few minutes drive to the west while the capital city of our province is 30 minutes by bus so I can still experience being in a city in spite of the fact I live in a town. On the next town there is a hotel while on to the few more next a mall. It's getting modern around our province and it seems that to live in the city can wait.

I have always been a country girl by heart. It is so nice to grow up in a country side. When I will retire I want to come back to the country side and spend the rest of my remaining life there living in a farm.
I am currently living in the suburbs where you get the best of both the rural and urban life. In suburbs you get to experience clean living with fresh air and the laid back lifestyle of a rural life. You get to personally know your neighbors. It is very conducive for a child to grow in a suburb where he can play with the other children in the neighborhood and not worry about pollution. Prices of houses are even cheaper than those offered in the city.
What is good living in a suburb is that it is just near the comforts of the city. You can always experience the city life and it is always near to the best schools in the country. Plus there are more employment choices here. Basically you get the best of both worlds living in a suburb.

I was born and brought up in a small town in the countryside. So, I have a passion for living in a small town. Very pleasant and peaceful. Yes, of course, it has advantages and disadvantages. Now, my job has taken me to a large city. But, I still do prefer living in one of the suburbs of the city, rather that in the downtown core.
