Open Minded VS Broad Minded

Is there any difference between an "open minded" and a "broad minded" individual? Or can one be both? Why or why not?

These terms appear to go hand in hand depending on the context they are used. You may say a person is open minded if he listens to a lot of ideas like a sponge then you can say he is broad minded if he can sustain his open mindedness for a longer time.

I think that when you are open minded, eventually, the knowledge that you would have will be broad. I am not sure if I can really differentiate the two but I guess having an open mind is the key for great learning.
