I am thinking of outsourcing some content writing to some writers to people on odesk as their rates seem very reasonable and the reviews on their previous works. I just do not know how to invite people to take up my project. any idea how to contact them directly?

I am just thinking out loud. There are also writers in here. Why don't you post it under TASKS and see if anyone is open to take it. Or through this post. I know many good Triond writers reside in here as well. They might consider. What kind of content are you looking at. Respond to my post and maybe others can assess if they will take it up. Specify the content domain and your budget if you want to filter the correct interested parties.

Just to add, I do write on Triond too, but not a good writer. I didn't respond to your post for the opportunity. It's more for others who are good and interested. Cheers!

I can create a task and wait for people to respond, but over at odesk it is like employing someone for the job to do. I am not sure how the working relationship @ mylot, but at odesk it is pretty clear. I would like to have a long lasting working relationship. I might need to have something like 20 articles.

I do not mind actually, I would like to have a long working relationship as I migh need long term help with my website. I might not be able to create articles regularly, however there are some rules which I do not know if I would be able to enforce over here.

I don't know if you can contact people directly. I stopped using them because I kept getting so many things from them and none of them worked for me.

I've never acted as an Employer on oDesk, but I'm pretty sure you can invite contractors to an interview (mostly because I've been invited to them before). You should have that option while you're visiting the contractors profile as an employer. At least I think so.

I looked into it, and there's an option to browse contractors, so maybe that's your solution. Here's my profile, if you're interested: http://www.odesk.com/users/~~823c292ffd16a85a

do you do research and writing for articles regarding investing and weight loss? if so what is your rate per article and would the pass copyscope?

Hello there Iwrite! I did many researches for many things but not so much on investing. I did write some research papers for students. However, there is nothing it could not be done in research. For weight loss matter, I did some articles. Actually I am a member of Odesk but I did not try to apply works there yet. I use other forms to check plagiarism online not the copyscape.

You can make private job posting, and invite only contractors that you want. I can't remember exactly how, because I didn't used it for awhile. I currently use only JobsFor10 for cheap article writers. If you thought to contact someone outside oDesk, it is not allowed to exchange personal email or any contact before you hire contractor.

I have joined odesk some months ago. I am indeed very impressed with the variety of jobs being offered there. But, I am a bit confused with the procedure. Do I have to pass the odesk test before bidding on the projects ? And, why odesk tests any way ?

I would contact administration or who ever hosted the information you found on this to begin with. Has to be a way. Alittle detective work could go a long way. Hope you are able to find it. Another good site is www.guru.com. You might check there as well and see if anything like it on there.

You can sign up to microworkers and offer sign up tasks that way, or join some free networking social sites and post them as your updates. You can also tweet your available types of work and or send the out to your friends here on myLot and or facebook.

oDesk and Elance both confuse me, mostly because I don't have the time to learn their system. I find freelancer.com much simpler. What rates were you thinking for original content? If you pm me I can give you a link to my Helium articles; I have over 200 but I'm always interested in writing for others if the price is right.

iwrite, try our members here first if they could do the job for you. I think there's a lot of good writers here.Odesk is quite strict with information exchange between employers and contractors. As an employer you could choose the contractor you want, keep tract of the good writers you've worked with before and get them if they are available. There are jobs posted there that has no duration too if you like the writer just keep on giving him/her a project.

I think it is strict would be good for employees, at least you know that the would maintain some standards.

Hi, I am interested on the writing job that you have mentioned. I am working at Odesk right now.I have use their Client Support facility which allows you to submit a question ticket to answer ANY questions that you might have. Or guide you on establishing a sort of company inside Odesk where people such as me will be able to apply and submit an article sample. Using a sort of YM message system you can interview people. As for payment methods you can also Odesk verify that so that people who are applying may be assured that you will really pay them for the work that they may have done under you. By the way you can either leave a comment or feedback about the specific person that has worked for you and vice versa.I hope this answers your question.

Well, Odesk is pretty simple really, you write down the specification of a job or contract, then post it in the appropriate category, then a contractor who is interested in the rates and job specs will apply for the job along with his/hers cover letter and maybe an article he/she has written. You can also check his/her resume and comments and feedback to make sure your getting exactly what you want. Once you have initiated contact (what Odesk call an interview) your pretty much free to talk and ask one on one questions or set tests tasks or anything you want with your new employee. It’s pretty simple and works well, but make sure you realize if your offering a fixed price job then the contractor might ask for a small fee before work starts as there is no guaranteed payment for fixed price jobs. I’m not exactly sure what your question was concerning Odesk, but I hope this cleared up something for you. By the way, I do work at Odesk as a contractor ( freelance writer), if you feel like asking any questions or if you want to hire me feel free to contact me at : Konyarumi@yahoo.com (the reason I have not provided my permalink is Mylot wont let me copy/paste). Have a good day.
