Consult the BMI online calculator for you to find out if you are really underweight. If not, then, that is fine. Being overweight poses hazards to your body especially to your heart.
Some tips to gain weight: have regular resistive exercise, eat balanced diet and avoid eating junk foods.

There are other factors than consuming food that have to do with weight gain or loss. Metabolism is one of the major factors along with genetics.
Usually when people 'scold' someone for being too thin it's because they fear they are not thin enough.
As long as you aren't energy deficient and are active and feel good, don't worry about what they say. Life isn't about looks it's about people, who you are inside...that's where the 'good build' is most important.
If you are healthy, you are fine just the way you are. No need to be disappointed in yourself, after all you haven't failed anything.

Hi I would suggest that if you are really worried about your weight that you visit your doctor who may suggets some supplements or other weight gaining foods that would be good for you. Gaining too much weight just to please people is not a good thing, so be very careful about what you do.
As for thsoe who scold you, some people just can;t understand that "we are not like them' and today you may be thin, but suddenly a week form today, your weight could bloom. It's all about how our bodies work.
