We have so many stuffs that I wanna to get rid off, but I don't waana throw them away because most of them have values. I'm thinking about having a garage sale, but I don't have any idea yet how to do it. Do I need some permits or something? How about tax? Have you ever had a garage sale? Or do you want to do it too?

I guess the legal side of things depends on your country and or state that you live...I live in Australia and I have had a couple, they can be good fun..My first one I involved quite a few houses in the street, I put flyers in all the letter boxes to see who was interested in having one on the same day, I ended up have about 12 houses involved, it was like a big circus, proplr love going to a few houses they can visit... Good luck if you have one.

Yes I have experienced selling stuffs on garage sale. In our country garage selling don't require any tax or permits of any kind except if you will be using government property for the venue, in this case you have to seek the approval of the officer in charge in the area/place such as the Mayor or the Barangay Captain.
Putting up a garage sale is fun especially when other people wanted to purchase your stuffs, I mean it is really nice to earn some money from the things you'd rather throw away because you're not using them anymore. Moreover it is also nice that the things you want to get rid off would be of help to other people such as clothing, shoes and books. And another fun thing about garage sale is the chance to communicate with other people, to be able to carry out conversation with them and know a little bit about your buyer while doing their purchasing and bargaining.
But the downside of garage selling here in our country is that most of the buyer if not all of them would seriously bargain something for a very low price, and at the end of it all you'd end up giving up your stuff in a cheap price, for example: a good pair of pants which is put up at around 3 to 4 bucks will be bought at 50 cents to a dollar after the buyer begged for it.
So it all depends on your buyer and your selling strategies. So just have fun with it and enjoy your garage sale. :)

We always do garage sale when we need to raise funds for our church and foundation. We live in the province and we do not get any permit whenever we have a garage sale.
If you want to be sure, maybe you should go to your 'baranggay' hall or if you are from a subdivision, you can consult someone from the homeowners' association.
