What has happened to our United States?

I recently found out that after working 20 years at a government job I might loose my job. Why???? Because the politicians have ruined everything. Too many years of over spending and free money to every lazy jerk, every imigrant, every lawless fool and dopehead. Money you and I have worked for and provided to these people. Now that the proverbial bla, bla has hit the fan I am paying for what the rotten politicans have done. Am I angry - you bet I am.

I am from india so not much aware of situation in america, but what you say is happening in india too, the corrupted politicians spoil everthing, honest workers suffer a lot.
I am happily retired after teaching for 44 years in colleges.

I was in Public Education for years on the management side with no Union protection. Over the years I saw the Teachers Union support for candidates and they were rewarded with more money for their support. Local taxpayers were forced to add new programs, with extra teacher, and when the state aid dried up the local tax payers had to come up with the extra money. As people were facing downsizing and paying more of the cost of their benefits - the state workers were getting raises. It became too much for many taxpayers and they voted the supporters of State Workers out and put in their people in power with a mandate to cut spending.
By the way what is your Union doing for you? Are they reducing your dues?
