I am a Filipino citizen. I want to take my wife in Saudi and obtain permanent family visa. The problem is i am a secretary in saudi airlines. Can i directly request to my employer about this one or should i end first my contract and upon renewing it i will apply a family visa?

Mr. smelz23, I am in Saudi Arabia, too specifically in Jeddah. My visa's a Foreign Language Teacher and I wish to bring my wife this August. I could partly answer your query since our Institute Secretary was able to bring his wife in November 2010. Under the Saudi Labor Law regardless of what position you hold provided that it can be converted into family visa/status you may do so. As per your dilemma regarding your plan to end your contract or otherwise prior in bringing your wife is advisable the soonest possible time. You need not wait for your contract to end before bringing her more so if you long for her company like me. I could also say that it depends. Well if you find your employer worth approaching and accommodating then you may start processing the necessary papers as to her coming here immediately. I hope I was able to give you a piece of my mind in my simplest way.
