I am 7 months pregnant and my husband smokes. He doesnt do it in the house at all but it still bothers me because the smell follows him back inside the house. I was told that the strong smell could even harm me and the baby, so i stay away right after he smokes. He told me he really wants to quit as far as not doing it around our son after he is born but what are the chances of him quitting in the next 3 months? Is it better for him to quit cold turkey? or to cut back as much as possible everyday? How stressed will he be if he quits cold turkey? I just dont know how to help him out other than to not nag and leave him alone about it. Just let him deal with the proccess and be there when im supposed to? Has anyone gone through this situation before? Can you help me on what i should be doing?

I am 55 years old now. I started smoking when i was 14. I smoke about 2 packs a day. I was 17 when i had my first child, and i was 35 when i had number 8. I have 14 Grandchildren.
My husband smokes about the same as i do. Not one of my children has been affected by my smoking. I smoked right through all 8 pregnancy's, and smoked while raising all 8 kids.
It is a bad habit to start. and all you can do for your husband is be supportive because it has to be up to him to quit. all nagging is going to do is cause a lot of stress for him and you.
out of my 8 kids only 3 of them smoke right now.
I wish you all the luck with your husband, i will pray for you and him. and congratulations on the new Baby.
