I have gotten my kindle e book finally done. It is up there at amazon, live and ready for sale. I have joined a couple of forums, and shared it all on my social networks. I have even lowered the price from the publishers want of 5 dollars to 3 dollars. Anyone have any ideas on what I should do next? Free or otherwise , I need to draw some traffic to this book. But targeted traffic. What you think???

If you have a blog or website, you should post a chapter or two to give people a good idea of what the book is like, and maybe tempt them to buy. I'm going to be publishing my first novel on Smashwords, next month, I hope. One of the things I like about Smashwords is that you can decide how much you want to let people read as a sample. It sounds as if you're not self-publishing, but if you were, you could have your book in a lot of places besides Amazon. After I figure out the formatting and everything for Smashwords, I'll probably post the book at Barnes and Noble as well.
Best of luck with your book.

Actually, Amazon gives you a chance to sample the book on either kindle or computer. It is on the right side of my page as an option.

I forgot that's an option at Amazon. Not every publisher takes advantage of it, which can be frustrating when I'm trying to decide whether to buy a book.
I've done something that I know a lot of writers might not want to do. I serialized a novel on my Live Journal blog. It was an early draft, and the book has changed a lot, but I got a lot of people interested in it. I also serialized the first draft of last year's NaNoWriMo novel. That's not as bad as it sounds because the plot and characters were already well worked out, and I'm pretty fussy about editing, so it wasn't as if I put up a piece of crap.
There are quite a few writers who publish a free version online before they finally put their books into ebook or print form. As long as you're not paranoid about having your work stolen, it's a great way to build a following.
