Thanks for the response.
I think the great thing about Valentines Day is that it's about an individual relationship and if you ask many people what they did you will get so many different answers. Some go out for meals, some a romantic day out and many other things.

I want to say that Valentines day is a great day because it preaches and encourage love among persons. Although valentines day is not widely accepted as a public holiday in some country of the world. People go to work on valentine day in my country. However, people still celebrate it after they close from work. However, I want to critize the celebration as too romance-oriented or lovers-oriented. People in most society see it as a day for lover to re-ignite their love and relationship. They identify it as a day for girl friend and boy friend who are into love making or dating. But I think valentine day is for everyone whether you have are going out with a woman or you are single. I do not see anything wrong if I celebrate valentine as a single. If I do not have a girlfriend or lover, I can buy a good food from a fastfood restaurant or go on a shopping spree at a supermarket. I can even go to the woods with a great book and then read it to myself. I do not necessary need a woman to celebrate valentine.
If I have money I will like to embark on charity by going to the hospital and motherless babies home to give the sick and the orphan some good gift.
I think people should change their orientation about valentine day. It is not necessary a day for lovers. You can even buy a gift for your boss or co-worker.

My husband and I both really like chocolate, so we buy eachother our favourite kind of chocolate. This month we decided to order in, and we had chicken wings for dinner. Our favourite! :)

Well if i have the chance to be with my partner, then i would love to have this day only for us. To get away for a while from the usual thing that we used to do. Time to be alone, just giving each other attention that we usually can't do in the house or in an ordinary day. Maybe in the beach, or in any separate area that is near nature.

We celebrate our anniversary on Valentimes day! This was our three year anniversary just gone on Monday - we celebrated with a nice meal as I couldn't get out of work so just decided to have a meal in!

What can be done depends on the budget. A simple coffee or stroll in the park works well for me if the budget is tight. As long as I am with the man I love, it doesn't matter.

I agree to some extent that it doesn't matter where you go or how much you spend as long as you spend it with that special someone.
