Representative Womack of Arkansas has filed an amendment to the budget to eliminate funding for Obama's teleprompter.
I laughed so hard, I was crying!
Representative Neugebauer of Texas proposed stripping funding for any repairs, improvements to the executive residence at the White house. This one, I would allow for repairs. What if a pipe bursts? If they cant fix it, it would cost more in damages than it would have to fix it at the time.
I am still a big supporter of cutting foreign aid and all UN money including improving the security at the US building.
What is your favorite cut being proposed?

Hiya laglen,
Strange to cut Money for any repairs needed to be done to the White House. Like trying to sew good Material with Bad Needles and Bad Cotton it´s not good economy.
You are right if they have a burst pipe and it´s and important Meeting can wreak Havoc depending where the burst is.
Also the Security I would not cut either because the Security should come before anything in a place like the White House.

Hiya laglen,
Well is that good or not? What I mean is it seems that the money should come from somewhere else then? Like out of "their Pockets"?
The White House is like Number Ten Downing Street it has to be secure always. I don´t know that seems very logical to me also our Spanish President´s Home has very tight security and we the People pay for it as far as I know. That they do not tell us either in fact they never utter a word about it.
Suppose that over there they probably have a special Department that takes care of all that kind of thing. Security, Maintenance, Repairs of the White House. If the Special Department exists do they pay for all of that then? Thank you for your take there on that one.

I was not talking about security for the White House. The White House is in Washington DC. The United Nations building is in New York. The UN should pay for this expense not the US. Most Americans would be very happy if the UN moved to another country. We cover 22% of the UN budget, more than any other country.

I'm waiting for the cut to the Executive's and his wife's staff, parties, outings, etc. I think we can do with less state dinners/parties/receptions/etc. I would maintain and repair the White House, executive residence, etc. but I'd make dang sure it was just R&M and not a total makeover. Let ABC pay for that...

Not sure if it is been proposed but pulling some or all of our foreign Military Bases especially the ones in Europe. Also pulling out of Iraq. Oh and Foreign Aid yeah cutting that down 20% would be good.
Actually taking a step back out of the World Arena and letting one of our allies step up to the plate to run things for a while would be good. We really need to get back to walking softly and caring a Big stick.
