I am in rage about this shop and good enough that I was able to control my temper. I hate it because I cannot make a complain like I used to whenever I sense any wrong. But this time, only thing I did is to make a sigh and went out.
The story goes like this. Last Sunday, I bought a headset because I would be needing it the next day. When I used it last Monday, the microphone was not working. So, I had to request for a replacement last Wednesday. According to the crew, I can go to other branches as long as I have the receipt for the service warranty if there is a problem.
When my headset was replaced, everything went fine. But last Thursday, as I am trying to check its quality, I am listening to my playlist when suddenly the headset fell and caught it. The right side part got loose. In other words, I did not do anything to intentionally destroy it. Besides, why should I do that? The testing did not lasts for an hour and I had to place it in the box for me to make use of the service warranty.
I went to the nearest branch of CD-R King last Friday, but the technician told me that I have to go to the Branch where I bought it. So, I went to Gateway mall, CD R King where I bought my headset. I was not able to make use of the service warranty because the Supervisor said that it is a physical damage which is not under their warranty. I am sort of pissed off because as if they are telling me that I don't know what is the scope for under warranty. Hence, one crew is telling the supervisor that the damage is intentional because I might have forced it or it fell in the floor.
Oh my! They are insinuating as if I am illiterate with this. Darn! I know my rights, and I will not intend to destroy something just for the sake that I will get a new one. Duh! My time is precious, same is through with my money and effort of going back and forth to the store. So, why should I destroy that headset.
I really wanted to burst out then, but good enough that I just gone from the church and I thought to be calm and kind.
This situation happened not only once on said CD-R King store. Their products have a low quality. I will never buy my stuff there again.

Hello Maean,
Well, the last thing i bought was a DVD but it was a mistake because it was a wrong label but it was my fault unfortunately. local customer service sucks in this country so there's completely waste of time trying to get angry with people who have low customer service record. besides, it's not worthed, you can just tell others how suck it is, i have seen a site where a blogger said the branches in cebu were customers were complaining too

Hi there LK!
Yes, you are right, it is not worth the effort to make blah blah because the truth is their products has a very low quality. It is useless to complain. That is the reason why I just took the headset and went out of the store, though quite disappointed. I just asked the Lord to make me calm while I am walking in the street going towards the loading area for FX passengers. And yes, that is why I started this discussion to tell the whole Philippines how CD-R King sucks.
I am really pissed off because it is as if I bought a product in the street. A product which you bought today which is destroyed tomorrow. If only PC Express or PC Gilmore is near in my place, then I should have gone there.

in the first place, just like the two of you have said, their products are of low quality. so we have to set ourselves and be ready when their products do not last longer. they have a shorter warranty also. although here in cebu, they are complaints too, there are some cdr king branches with a better customer service. i have lots of products came from different branches here but fortunately, i have not returned to their stores complaining about their products. i might just be more fortunate than you.

Oh my dear, the headset I am telling costs P150. and the reason why I bought that is because I am expecting that it would be good. Yes, there is this headset more cheaper than that. But, it din't last. First, it was replaced and then the second, something went loosen. It lasted only for an hour...Can you imagine that? Compared to my old one which is more than 2 years old.

You said "the headset fell and caught it". I'm not really sure what that means, but if you dropped it, they're not responsible to fix it. If it stopped working, well, that's another matter, they should replace it, like they did the first time.
I'm not familiar with that store, but, it sounds like they don't have very high quality things to begin with. If you really feel you're in the right, go above the store supervisor's head. Write a letter to their head office, and maybe someone higher up can help you.

Hi there Bonbon!
I was then checking the headset if it is working. In other words, the headset was worn on my head. While listening to some music, the headset slipped to my shoulder and almost fell in the floor, but I was able to catch it. Hence, something got loose in the right ear side, that is why it slipped. Besides, even if it fell, the headset will not break because I am sitting on a foamy big pillow. But it is still considered a physical damage even if I did not do something with it. Plus, the crew makes it appear like I forced the headset that is why something gets loose. Which I did not because why should I have to do that? I was then writing and listening until I suddenly felt the loose.
They also said that they cannot replace it because they can only make replacement once.
I wanted to make a complain, but I can't sacrifice my time and effort for that matter. I mean, it is a waste of my time because I still have to travel back and I only have the chance to drop on that store during Wednesdays and Sundays.
Well, the only thing I can do is remind people about this incident. It din't happen once.

What a poor customer service! The prices of their merchandises are low and so as their service.
You did the right thing their is no benefit in arguing with such person. It is their lost not yours. They lost a valuable customer, and those who will read this might lose interest in CD-R king too.
They pay the price of their poor service.

Hi there Angelic!
After posting this discussion, I have read and commented a similar discussion about CD-R King. The discussion starter told about how good and great the products from CD-R King and how cheap is their products. Well, I have thought that she is perhaps satisfied with it because she hasn't tried other stores. Well, as for me, if I have to list down all the products and situations that made me disappointed about the store, it will take my comment very very lengthy. I would always argue with my ex-bf then why he has to keep on buying stuffs from that store ending up borrowing mine. He always say, because it is cheap. Oh yes, it is cheap, but he never realized that when he keeps on buying cheap stuffs not considering the quality every time it is damaged is equivalent to a 1 product with a fair price and of good quality. Have to cite an example: My ex bought an optical mouse from CD-R King then, it was damaged after 3 days. He bought another because the crew said physical damage is not part of the warranty. After a few weeks or a month, something went wrong again. So, he bought another which costs him P600+ all in all. That happened only for less than 2 months and he had bought 3 optical mouse from said store. Compared to what I am still using now. My optical mouse is turning 4 years old this March. When I bought it in March 2007, the price is P300+. There is a big difference, right? And yes, I have to say that my optical mouse is still working and in good condition.

I buy products from CD-R King but not often. If I were you, I said to the employee " I bought a headset to listen to my songs, I don't intend to ruin it and make an effort to go back to the store and have this kind of conversation. I will report you to DTI you are providing low quality products. And your regulation is substandard."

Syoti my dear! Thanks for the suggestion, but no thanks. I was already talking with the Supervisor then and that crew was like having a mock on the corner, and I can hear it.
If I was that in a "stupid" and "rude" mood, I would have make an argument and can lead to something like, "I will sue you in court, I want to speak with your Manager" or even worse. But my dear, I was in a very kind and lighter mood then because I just gone from the church and I don't want myself to fall into ruining my day.
It is easy for me to complain if I want to.

i hate buying stuff in cdr king though their pricesare remarkably lower than the other stores. but i'd rather not risk the quality of the things i buy. i say buy quality stuff prices maybe steeper but it will last you a lifetime. plus i think those people who sell low quality stuff are just ripping us off. their products are intended not to last long so that customers will buy over and over again.

Always test any gadget before leaving the store. Sure it will take more time because they will need to test it to make sure that the gadget is working. But this will save you time and money. I never buy anything from this shop ever since it opened. A lot of my friends are patrons of this shop and I have never heard them complain about the stuff they bought there. I guess it was just your bad luck to get a really defective brand of headsets.

Hi mae,
Bad luck for you, I have the same experience with CDR-King when I bought an optical mouse. All was fine until one day, the spindle of its wheel broke. Since I lived far from the city, I have no option but cope with the broken spindle. Their warranty only extend to three days and it has been a month since I bought the mouse.
Some claim good products from the store, even my mouse at the office is marked cd-r king and it is still working fine up to now. I'd say, you buy like you hit or miss from them. You get a durable product, its a hit; otherwise, its a miss.
Anyway, I'd go to Interpace for my computer needs nowadays. Most of my durable things are from that store, like my 1GB USB flashdisk that lasted almost six years until I have the misfortune to fry it by plugging it into a reversed polarity port. My new 4GB flashdisk is from the same store and not from cd-r-king. Moreover, I can't bear to wait in line clutching a prio number especially when pressed for shopping time.
Like you, I never buy from that store ever again.

Hi girl. Sorry about your frustrations on CD-R King. So far I didn't had the same issue with them, all of the products that I got from them worked fine for me except for their sales persons.
We had this experience in CD-R King SM Cubao where their sales person was stomping because she has to go to the other side of the store where she already asked us if there are some other things that we would like to buy from that side. I don't think that they have the right to complain since it is part of their job, we are not like making her go back and forth from side to side of the store that was just one incident. My bf just wanted to complain I just said let it be. I don't like to make commotion inside the store.
I know that they're products are not of high quality but they still work for me.
Better not buy there because of your experience. I think we really are that bad when serving our own people?

I have to agree with you on one thing and its that the quality of the products in CD-R King sucked. But hey they must have well-trained personnel to tell the difference between broken due to bad quality and broken due to user's recklessness.
Maybe the breakage was because of the repairs that they did while fixing the microphone. They must have forgotten a screw of something. But what happened has already happened, Don't get entirely mad at the store itself. At least we can still buy CDs in it, as the name states.
Maybe it was the personnel that was the problem. My friend keeps on complaining about the not-so-well customer service that most personnel exhibit.
