My Inbox is full of MyLot notifications

Hi Friends,
Now a days I am not getting much time to be on MyLot and hardly spend 30 minutes on myLot. Because of less time spent on MyLot, there are number of email notifications from MyLot friends about the discussions that they have started.
Every day I am deleting few emails of notifications but at the same time do not want to lose the discussions that I may wish to respond to. So there are many even after deleting so many of them.
I am trying to clear the backlog so that I do not have to delete discussions without responding them.
Thank You for sharing.

You can create a seperate folder in your email.
I have one for discussions started by mt friends, another for the Digesr and I allow notifiers of responses and comments and notifications of deletions to come to my inbox. That way it dplits them up and there appear to be fewer.

I like it too because they arrive and all go to seperate folders and it seems easier to deal with them if they are sorted

What you need to do is to go your preference up on top of this page then un check all the email notifications that you no longer want to receive:
Go here:
http://www.mylot.com/nr/editNotifications.aspx
Then you will have to go to your friend list and change your friends notifications to off for each and every friend.
Now if you violate any of the guidelines those you will get and you cannot change that. So if you follow the rules you should not get any or maybe just a few.

Give me five!~ Haha!~ I am having the same problem with you. I've got so much to do & so little time left for myLotWas hoping to stick around here long enough but seems like I'm loosing steam again, haha!~But I must say I'm thoroughly enjoying the search engine though, although I've got a warning for using it too much, haha!~

Hi mermaidivy,
I think you misunderstood Lamb's response. You can go to the preference above and change the notifiers so you do not get them.
Then you need to go to each of the members in your friend list and individually change to turn off notifier.
The ones Lamb was explaining is that if you get anything violated or deleted then those notifiers that come from admin you will always get. So if you do not violate the rules then you should not be getting many or none at all.
Hope this helps.

I do not mark mylot notification as spam so that I can see them in my inbox and act on them as soon as I can but it has become very tough to manage so I have to select and delete.

Yes, I have lots of mylot notifications too- I think there are almost a thousand of them- some of them even date back to my first weeks here in mylot. I don't really have time to respond to some of them since I am in school most of the time..I also can't decide yet if I want to answer some discussions, so they just end up filling my inbox. I shall try answering most of them now..

Just read and delete if you do not want to respond to the discussion but you need to read at least.

I think notification contains much information regarding new things from my lot or another regarding your performance or messages of your friend or inbox full information so all of these makes you awareness.

Oh, dear,my friend will not like what I am about to share here...
I do not keep all the Mylot notifications in my inbox. Matter of fact, I delete them all as soon as I open my mail. No, it is not because I am not interested to respond or read on any of the discussion my friends' started but because I have to clean up my inbox so I can see all other messages other than Mylot notifications.
I should have created a seperate email account for Mylot only.
As for my friends' discussions, I'm browsing them all one by one here in Mylot page. Matter of fact I set it on the top most left page so I can see them easily and immediately once I log in to Mylot. That way, I can easily choose which one to respond to.

I do not delete them for my favor, if I delete them will not be very prompt to log in to mylot and respond to the discussion so I keep them in the inbox and atleast open them for sure and if I feel like responding the discussion, will do that otherwise just delete.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Ajay,
I got the same thing as you did! For me, there may be better idea to deal with this problem. Only a little inbox setting in my outlook, done! You can create a rule in your inbox so that all the mails from mylot can be moved to the very folder you wanted(you can create this folder before), in this case, the mylot won't stuck in your inbox which troubles u. And you can check it whenever you wana.A little tip, hope it will help. Have a nice day!

yes I can create but my focus will go away if I do not see those notifications in my inbox. I can redirect those to any folder.

Hi Ajay
I too have samething in my inbox. I spend half an hour too. I like mylot to give our opinion to others discussion. At the same way we expose our feelings too. Thats why i like it. For the same feeling i also regret to give answers to them because of the time. seeing your message i too decide to give my responds to my inbox notifications. so i have to spend more time for this valuable mylot site.

Hi there, you can filter all myLot notifications and have a specific folder for it. So every time myLot sends an email notification, everything will be saved in that folder, so no missing of notifications and it is not flooding your inbox along other important emails.
I discovered this today. Because sometimes I miss important emails in between myLot notifications, I am using Yahoo! not sure w/ other email providers though.
