My niece is having her baby shower on the 13th of march, and I am in charge of decorations which is my cup of tea. I love to do crafty decorations. Of course I am on a budget, and would love to keep it at 1.00 per table. There is suppose to be at least 4 to 6 tables.
I am already making a diaper cake ( lord be with me, it will be my first ) but it's the tables that has me puzzled. I have searched and really can't find anything that I like or is going to be less than a 1.00 a table. I know I can fill jars with some candy, but that is too plain for me. I really want it to stand out. I shop at the dollar tree all the time, but by the time I have figured up just one table top decoration, it ends up being 2.00 to 3.00 bucks. Perhaps I am expecting too much ?
ps. I have baby blue ruffle lace, her theme is monkeys and she is having a boy.
I was thinking along the lines of paper craft to keep it cheap.

Well i have made a couple diaper cakes in my past and those are great decorations to have around the cake and thats always a cute thing to have and everyone goes crazy about that.
Another thing you can do is go online to oriental trading and it might be wedding stuff but look for some favor bags and get some light pastel ones to use and fill them with M&Ms and thats always a cheap favor to do. I know you didnt say anything about favors but though i would consider that for you. You can put the favors around the table around a centerpiece. You are going to be over one dollar on each table no matter what you do. You will beover one dollar on the table if you add the favors but then you wont have to worry about that in the end anyways.
I would like you stated get some stuff from the dollar tree and jsut get on cardboard cute centerpiece and put it in the middle and be done. Dont overdue yourself and get exahusted over this.
I also have seem those paper dixie cups with monkeys on them if that helps you out some. I believe i saw them at walmart but a while back so not sure if they still have them or not.
If not maybe you can find some monkey stickers at walmart or michaels or an art store near by you. Goodluck

Well my sister was wanting to buy a diaper cake because she hated to ask me to make it ( I am the crafty one in the family ), but I wasn't going to let her spend 100.00 bucks on it, so I sort of offered.
I actually checked out oriental trading, but didn't' see anything that caught my attention, maybe I need to go back and look again.
Funny you mentioned the favors, I just kinda figured you would little favors for people to take with them, but when I mentioned it to my sister, she said no, I don't think you have favors. That we would be playing games and they would get little prizes that would actually go back to the mother. Of course, that really made no sense to me, but being I have not really dealt with baby showers, I just said okay. But, I like the idea of using the favors for part of the decoration.
The paper dixie cups with monkeys would make something really cute. I will be checking out walmart.
Thanks for the ideas..but "not" stressing out is not a option for me. I am famous for it cause I want everything prefect. I am really excited about this baby. My family is filled with girls, this will be the first boy haha.

Yeah, the dollar tree is going to be my best bet, I could even check out dollar general or family dollar. You never know what you will find there.
