I never bother about cat scratches and I've never had one get infected. But thats just me, you may be more prone to getting slight injuries infected than I am so you should do what ever you think is best for you.

It was right that you cleaned your wound with soap and water. But since cats lick their paws and their paws get in contact with soil (if your kittens have gone outisde), they carry lots of germs and bacteria. I suggest you go see a doctor. You may need to have tetanus toxoid injection as prophylaxis.
I remember back then when I got scratched and got bit lightly by our playful cat. I had minor wounds that bled and I just washed them as you did. Our cats are outdoor cats and I'm just so glad I did not catch anything.
