I've very tired with work atm. Overwhelming heavy tasks are coming afront and I've to deal with them one by one. I'm not handling one task but several different tasks and have to deal with a lot more trivial matters even like calling the courier to send packages, copy files, making phone calls to whatever people that they need to contact. The supervisor told me during the interview that we'll work 6 days a week for one to two months, and later on the told we've go back to normal work schedule of working 5 days a week after the lunar new year. By now 5 months have already passed. Now've got back to the office again after the New Year celebration. According to his words, we shouldn't come to work Saturday this week, but today is Wednesday and I see there's no hope. However, we do want to talk to him about it. These days we're still very very busy, to be honest, we're always busy, there has never been a relax period in work. Every time his excuse is that we're very busy in this period so we should work 6 days a week, but when can such busy time past? Never. So dear mylot friends, can you give me such advice about how to talk about this issue with our boss? There are several other colleagues in the company who also want to talk with the boss about it, but don't know where to start. Please help.

Definitely ask for a raise or better find another job, as you mentioned here that you are getting tired of the job. Maybe it's time to move and develop your career.

Thank you jennyze for your suggestions. I've already signed 2 years' contract with the company last year so it's not easy to get out to find another job, sadly.

Oh, you have to fulfill the contract, then. It does not hurt to start looking for another job to your liking.

hi Game! Your situation definitely calls for an alternative job or a raise. I guess your boss is already taking advantage of your silence. I agree with your two commentors about your finding of another job then talk to your boss. It is also good to have assurance on job. You are being paid for 5 days of work hence, working for 6 days a week means working over time. This is already a matter that should be discussed. I think your boss could understand your sentiments once you say it nicely and politely.

Yeah, a pay raise or normal work of 5 days a week is what I want most. I've been too busy for the half year working in this company, 6 days a week and for Sunday, I need to wash clothes, tidy the room, have a bath, go shopping... I have no time to go around for relaxation. The only break day made me even more tired by finishing all these trivial matters. 5 days a week is what I want most. I've talked with two of my other colleagues and we agreed to ask the boss this afternoon whether we need to work tomorrow (saturday), he will surely say yes, and we'll ask: you've promised last year that this year we'll get back to normal work schedule, but why this still needs to continue? We've been too tired... Just wait for the result and I'll tell you all here.

First get out an look for another job. Once you have opportunities in other companies, then you have the freedom to negotiate for more pay for your increased work load. All you can do is show them that they are better off keeping you than watching you leave. As long as they think they are no better off with you or without you, they can demand whatever they can get away with.

dear parated, thanks for your help. I'm preparing to search for another job but still there doesn't seem to be the possibility for me to leave. I was thinking how to bargain with our boss today.
