1 Corinthians 6:19 ….. did you know that our body is a temple of Holy Spirit
Who owns you? When I ask myself that question, my first impulse is to dismiss it as nonsensical. With Paul, who enjoyed the rights and freedoms of a Roman citizen, I too can boast that I am free – at least politically.
As I read in one article, said Olav Olavson was a free citizen of Sweden, but he found himself hard-pressed for money. So in desperation he sold his body for medical research to the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm in 1910. A year later, he inherited a fortune, so he tried to buy himself back. But the Institute refused to sell him his rights to his own body, and in a lawsuit they retained possession of it. The Institute even collected damages from him because he had two teeth extracted without permission.
All of us are slaves to sin and spiritually dead – unless we have been born again. We can be set free from the penalty and power of sin (and how I rejoice that I have been set free) by prayerfully asking Jesus Christ to become our Liberator. We experience spiritual freedom as we accept His gift of forgiveness and then offer ourselves as slaves to God (Romans 6:22)
What a blessed paradox! As God’s slaves we enjoy a life of true freedom, peace, and hope. We were imprisoned by our sin, controlled by evil ways; but then the Savior set us free to serve Him all our days. To gain true freedom, give your life to Christ.

If we are slaves of God we are really free but if we are free in this world then we are slaves to corruption. As you say, very ironic!

Hello Visavis,
Only if we have done something good that made us live a life of contentment in life. as for me, i think it's better to live a hard life, but still have large degree of freedom rather than being a slave to material things and then not having your own life nor your own body to use as you please, for good of course.i believe freedom with responsibility is essential, with out it, you are like an animal who lost your sense of rationality and intelligence.

No one is freedom. The price of freedom is slavery. In a family we are bonded to our parents and siblings, spouse and children. At work we are bound to the rules of the work place. Every aspect of life is a indifference to "Freedom". You mention "God’s slaves".
My concept of freedom is a life free from worries, bonds and anger.

We were imprisoned by our sin

Less accident when we remind ourselves. By so doing, that is freedom.

"As God' slaves we enjoy life of true freedom. peace and hope". Well I would agree to you when you say that if we are with God, we are truly free from this world. Our hearts are in peace and we tend not to worry about what we are going to have by tomorrow cause we know that our God will give us our necessity. But I would prefer to call myself as "God's worshiper and son" and not as God's slave. For He himself said that a slave does not know what his master's wills are. But if we are a friend, a brother, a son, then we know what His wills are. Since God let us know through the Bible what he really wants from us and what can he give us, then I will say that we are no longer as Slave but we are actually His children.
