Will the internet bring the world' nations closer or will it divide us more from each other in the future?
On the internet people inform people. We do not need to rely on the daily news anymore.
We can hear what is going on from other people. We can talk to individuals all over the world effortless.- And what we hear is often very different than the daily news.
We find that we are all alike and that we want the same things in life no matter where we are.
Now there are talks to stop this exchange because it might have a negative effect.
What do you think about this?

Definitely a mixed blessing. But I'd say the advantages are more important than the disadvantages. First of all, much more people have access to knowledge right now, and this means opportunities for people that wouldn't normally have them. Secondly, it makes our lives significantly easier, and this is (mostly) a really good thing. I think the problem is that we've become dependent on its benefits (and sometimes addicted to them), and we rely far to much on the Internet, especially for social interactions.

I don't think they will. Probably newspapers will last a bit longer as people still read them in the subway and places like that, but the postoffice is almost a thing of the past already, at least from were I'm standing. I even receive contracts and official documents online nowadays.

Good point there!
It gives people a lot of wonderful opportunities and access to knowledge!
And I agree with you we need to have personal social interactions where ever possible instead of the internet. Lets find the balance!!
Speaking of making our lives easier- do you think that the newspapers and the postoffice will survive in the long run?-

I can actually consider all the things around us as a blessing. It will only become a curse if used improperly or wrongly. People are just so corrupt that these things which are supposed to be of great significance to us are misused. So I say that WWW is a blessing too, and it will only give us negative effect if we use it for our own selfish desires and ambitions.

High five to you!
We need to all pull together and outweigh the negative side. Lets drop the corruption and the misuse and don't be selfish and so ambitious, that we forget we are not alone. If we all find the good and the things we really love we all will be blessed
in everything we do.-
Quantum physics says that we only find what we are looking for. Lets look for the good in the internet.

Well, it is a bit of both. For me, all things has its pros and cons, the Web included. And the benefits we derive from using the internet can also be beneficial to unscrupulous people, and thus use it to further whatever evil deeds they have. So the World Wide Web is a blessing and a curse at the same time.

I think it is a little bit of both. Curse because of all the new crimes that were created and steadily practiced to this day. Internet crimes are very hard to track and very hard to prove.. Blessing because it is a giant communications tool. It has highly affected communication on a global proportion.

Even if we do these dark things will always be here. What we need to do is find ways of keeping safe as we travel through the Internet.

I think it's more of a blessing than a curse, since if it weren't for the Internet,I don't see how else people from different parts of the world can share thoughts and discover that,no matter where they live, people are much alike and can communicate beyond cultural and religious barriers if they are open minded. So,even if the internet has many negative aspects,I think it's a blessing that we have it and we can enjoy it.

I also tend to agree with you, that it is more of a blessing than a curse.
Do you think that somehow the internet, as it is not physical, is less materialistic in nature?-

The www allows for improved communications. This is better for everyone regardless of whether we fight or love each other. Maybe one day instead of shooting at each other, people can just comment at each other. In any event, better communications will bring the world closer with more understanding.

The internet is a blessing because it brings people closer to each other, no matter what nationality they have like here at My lot. It becomes a curse when it is used by others to dupe people in some scrupulous schemes.
But in my opinion it is generally, a blessing.

It's both bad and good as all would say. Of course its good, the internet helps all the people including you and me. It helps because you can do your research easily and you can help many people like this often times. It's on the bad side, like troublemakers makes p.sites and and offending websites also. It depends on the user if he/she goes bad or good.

I think that it is both a blessing and a curse. As they say, there are two sides of a coin. The web is blessing because of the comfort and advantages it has provided people. We are all aware of how communication, business, information, research, and others have benefited from what the web has to offer. On the negative side, however, the web has become a nest of scammers and people who do illegitimate acts. Crimes, which are related to the internet, have also been committed.
