It has been a while since I got gas, I forgot the fuel was on my side... I waited and waited and then I pulled in, I realized the fuel is on the other side of the car... so I had to wait for the line again... Besides, my husband usually get gas for me on my car and he put it on the credit card, today he is going on trip for a couple of days, he didn't get gas for me this time so I had to go in to the store and pay with cash. And, it was so cold out... on top of the wind, it is painful cold to stand there for the gas... What do you think?

That's funny because when I saw the title of your discussion I thought you meant the other kind of gas - you know - flatulence! Anyhow, I really don't like getting gas for the car too. I'm lucky because my husband gets gas for our cars about 95% of the time. I did have to go put gas in it about 5 days ago but that's ok considering that he does it most of the time. I think the worst time was when I lived where it gets cold in the winter and it was snowing that day and really windy. My hands were wet and icy cold, not fun at all. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!! P.S. Try to stay warm!

When it is really cold or really hot outside, I don't like getting gas either. I don't mind to much on nice days, it is mostly just a minor inconvenience to have to stop and take time to do it. Also There are no really conveniently located gas stations around here so I always have to drive out of my way to go somewhiere specifically to get gas. It would be nice if the bank and the gas station were right next to each other then I could do both errands at once.

I don't like getting it either, but I still do it for the vehicles my husband and I drive. Rain or shine. I don't get it all the time though. Sometimes my husband will get it. Other times I will. It just depends. I do tend to get it more often, at least for our SUV, when my husband's working. I don't want him to worry about having to stop off and get gas, especially before work. During those times I usually top it off the day before. That way he can just get up and go. There was a time I didn't have to get it at all. That was when I was pregnant with our kids. My husband didn't want me breathing in the fumes. Boy, how I miss those days (not pumping the gas, that is). It was kind of nice. Happy mylotting!

That was nice of your husband. When I was pregnant, I still had to move wood to the house for the fireplace and stuff

Hi. mermaidivy. I know that it was very cold if you had to have been standing outside waiting in line. I have pumped gas before and it was easy enough. I had to pay for my gas inside of the store. I don't like getting gas either. I fear that I may spill some of the gas on the car. I make sure that I check for gas leaks before replacing the gas pump back onto the gas holster.

I worry about that as well and I think it would damage the paint on the car.

Oh pampered wives...haha!~I'm the one that always does that too for my wife, haha~!It's a good thing we don't have to put up with the chilly weather as we have none here, only the heat that at most times evaporate the fuelBest times to fill gas would be in the morning so that we actually get more - less evaporation...

Electronic systems are man made system. Of course, we are so advanced in technology. You can have a chance to pay the money through your credit card also, but some times it gives us bad experience. And you did better... I am thinking thought, we are become lazy with the sophisticated advanced technology.

I didn't used to hate filling up the tank, but I do anymore. Back in the 60's and 70's, almost all cars used to have their gas tanks opening on the same side of the vehicle. I think it was easier getting gassed up back then because everybody was aimed the same way, just like on the road. Then somebody came up with the bright idea to have them on the opposite side, or under the license plate in the back, and suddenly there were cars aimed in every which way just to fill up. Now sometimes you have to back in to the pump lol. I don't like standing out in the cold and windy days either.

I hate it too. Last night i got gas and hated it so much and hate going by myself. There were these guys that pulle dup next to me and then they all got out of the truck and literally watch me get has. Then they started talking to me and i just pulled away and didnt say anything because i dont need them talking to me at all and why cant guys just not say anything and mind there own business and one thing dont stare. I dont even like being at a gas station at all knowing that its nasty and dirty and just not a place i like to be at all. Not sure if this is my opinion or not but i wouldnt even want to work at a gas station.

Oh, how i miss the days when there was such a thing as a service attendant to pump the gas and check the oil and even clean the windshield. you didn]t even have to get out of your car.

I was like everyone else and thought you were talking about the other type of gas lol, But yeah...also like others here, I hate it with a passion. I hate the whole act of doing it, and the smell makes me so sick to my stomach. Luckily, my husband gets it for me often. Okay...not as much as I would like for him too, but to ask him ,it's all the time. If it was up to me, I would NEVER pump gas again. We have actually talked about opening a full service gas station, if we had the money. You don't see those type of gas stations anymore. I think it is a great idea, especially for those that hates pumping gas, or those that likes to be cratered to.

Where I live there aren't that many places where the gas station employees will pump the gas for a customer. I have always had to pump my own, so I have a feeling as to where it located at in my car. I suppose if you are not use to it, it is not quick to remember. I don't usually think about it too much about it. When it is too cold and or raining or snowing I will start the pump and sit in my car while it fills.

Because I used to drive the other car where the gas tank is on the other side so I just forgot which side and I don't do gas anyway so I didn't remember at all and I was slow...
